I would agree Vince, in fact if anything I'd say the dial looks bigger on the GMT, must be due to the writing on the DSSD

Thanks for the pic's Otto. but once again the watch looks too big for the bracelet. The best thing I see on that watch is the clasp(buckle) and I hope it trickles down to the other sport models.

Thanks for sharing.

That looks superb. I'm a little unsure about the thickness of it though.

Great photos. It's growing on me but that thing has too many words on the dial. Get rid of the advertisement, the word bling Rolex! The watch looks cheap with all them words.

Concur. A 7 inch wrist not huge, but to me it still looks top heavy and out of balance with the bracelet.

Bracelet's ratchet clasp feature already on the new Sub.

Of course, size, overkill depth rating, goofy dial text means nothing, these will sell like hot cakes and temporarily inflate in value on the GM. Good "flip" meat, just don't hold it too long.

my only complaint is that the bracelet appears too narrow on the DSSD

Otto, very interesting experience on feeling and trying on the SDD. Looks like the AD was very accomodating even though he couldn't sell you one right there and now. jumper

Thanks for the report Otto, I guess you have interested in the DS again! I really do not want to pay that much for a SS dive watch though.

I'm surprised that the GMT II C was not dwarfed by the DSSD. I think its because the dials are close to being the same size, and just the case is bigger. When you were wearing one on each arm, they almost looked like the same size. Even side by side on the display pad, there was not that noticeable a difference in size. How was the size difference in person?

Thank you Otto for the report. I still say this is going to be a VERY popular reference. I spoke to my AD today and still no indication when the watch will make it to my area.

I can't wait for it.

Thanks for the excellent report and pictorial, Otto.

I saw the "dummy" version yesterday and found everything about the watch superb......except for the 17 mm thickness which was a bit of a turn-off.

Other than that, the finish is superb and even the inscriptions on the rings are hardly noticeable.

The thickness is the one drawback for me. It appeared to be as thick or thicker (and I haven't compared the specifications) as the Breitling Avenger Skyland, the only Breitling I have considered buying; but which I haven't bought yet because of the thickness (but I do love that watch).

Nonetheless, I was pretty much won over by the DEEPSEA, though since I already have the GMT IIC and also have limited funds, I will probably go for another watch if I buy anything at all.

Someone asked me if the bezel has a matte finish. It appeared glossy to me; but I was not focused on that aspect of the watch. I was pretty much mesmerized by the crystal and its effect on the dial. Perhaps it isn't "as glossy" as the GMT IIC, and maybe there is a slight difference, but it certainly had some of the same reflective qualities. Did you compare the DEEPSEA bezel closely against the GMT IIC bezel?

Excellent report, thanks Otto. I'm eagerly anticipating for mine. I'm curious to know what accessories does it come with the watch?

If I don't get a Deepsea I am definitely getting the next new Submariner in Stainless if it has this same bracelet design.
If they leave the rehaut out of the next Submariner, go to 43 mm on the case, and increase the size of the dial, as well as the hands for more visibility in light and dark situations, I will get in line with you to buy one.

Unless my informal measurement of Otto's pictures is wrong, it appears to me that there is NO increase in dial size, or maxi-dial lume, or hands, in the new DEEPSEA over our GMT Master II Ceramics.

Otto excellent pics and really informative description
You comparitive pics gives an impression that the DSSD is not that huge what I was expecting like a BreitlingIt is looking fine however, I must say except the clasp the current Sea Dweller is far way better for me

Thanks Otto for your review

I still feel that the watch is too big and maybe that is contributed to by the differentiation in size between the watch 43mm and the width of the bracelet 20mm. Maybe if the watch wasn't so narrow, it might not feel like I have a anvil strapped to my wrist by a piece of string.

I also feel the inner bezel ring is an aesthetic drawback but this is purely personal preference and I acknowledge that it does play a functional role in the watch.

I don't wish to on your parade though
