To check how it feels while winding. Also if we have not worn the watch for few days, then we may end up in winding the watch to kick start the mechanism. Thanks

FYI on the 3132 in that it is used on quite a few models in addition to the 2016 Explorer I. Mine does make the tiny clicks right off the bat from unwound and due to the uniform rate I would suggest it is by design. The variation in "silkiness" from one watch to another could be a matter of part tolerance variations. Grinding or inability to wind on the other hand are serious functional problems. Again, suggest you visit a watchmaker at an AD as sound & feel of winding go hand-in-hand IMHO. Good luck!

I did not use my watch for around 24 hrs , allowing the watch to partially unwind. Today i tried to wind it but still heard that sound. I believe this mechanism 3132 has a power reserve of 42 hrs. That would mean 24 hrs later the power reserve should be around 50% and ready to take some more winding!

Unfortunately the sound is still persisting. Hence i have recoded the sound and attached it her for members views. The sound is quite loud and no need to put the watch close to my ears at all please let me know if you are not able to use this file ( pl use VLC player)

Kindly let me know about my next move. I am planning not to wear my watch for next 2 days ( my new rolex) and try winding it and see the differences.

Should i do anything else in the mean while. I feeling really disappointed that i cannot wear my new watch

suggestions/Opinions please
Good morning to you all

Just an update- I left the watch for 48 hrs to unwind itself and tried to wind it.
It is still making regular ratcheting sound when i tried. As the ratcheting sound is loud not sure if it is common with new explorer 1 2016 models.
I would appreciate if explorer 1 users provide their comments on this concern. My previous post has audio link to it and hope it helps

Thanks

Cheers!
Thanks Ritch
I tried to wind I after the watch has stopped, it is no different at all. Still makes the sound and I have posted that audio file.

I don't have to put my ears close the watch as the sound is too loud

The sound can be heard without straining at all. It is loud and too loud

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Today I spoke to seller and he listened to the audio file sent to him by email. Then he has kindly agreed to visit my place to have a look at it

An experienced gentleman came down and had a look at the watch. Tried winding it and assured me that everything works and sounds fine. Also mentioned that when he listened to the sound file it sounded different and thatbwas the reason for him coming down all the way to make sure that it was ok.

Now I feel very reassured and I was extremely pleased with their service. Now I can enjoy my watch. It is a real beauty.

Once again I would like thank all the forum members for your valuable contributions and willingness to go an extra mile to help others.
Great forum and wonderful and highly helpful/knowledgeable members.
Feel very nice to be part of that

Here is the beauty with happy ending
