If you want a watch that says "BAM!!! LOOK AT ME" then get the SkyD. That is not a knock against it. The SkyD is a very cool watch, but it is busy and large. The dial and bezel reflect light like crazy. Even though the AP is gold, it has a matte finish and is more subtle.
I love your AP, but it's because it meshes with my personality. If I wanted to move to a blingy Rolex, I would go platinum Daytona. If I wanted to go even further, then the Platona with diamond indices. |

The SkyD is totally worthwhile, but not at the expense of the 15202OR.
Maybe if you made sure to replace your 15202 with a SS 15202, then I could condone it. But as described in the OP, I cannot in good conscience condone this |

No way. I couldn't even imagine doing that.
But you should be completely satisfied with your watch. If the AP isn't doing it for you, then perhaps it's best to get something else. Even if it is the skydweller. One of the very few Rolex models that I truly dislike. |

Once you get a chance to bond with a larger watch, the jumbo will feel "simple" - just as the OP described above. I'm having a similar experience with my 15202 after picking up a Deep Blue. But the Jumbo stands on its own and has a place in a collection. Sit on it and good luck! |

Hell yes, go for it. I love mine. Obviously the AP is not doing it for you. I know that feeling and its the worst. You finally get what you think you want, and it doesn't move you. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk

No way I'd move that AP for a SkyDweller. I'm just waiting for Ken to come by and post pictures of his RO

For me, a big watch doesn’t necessary mean it’s going to get more wrist time. I have this ALS double split, which is 43.2. This watch doesn’t fall in my weekly rotation. |

I would say yes, Sky Dweller is such a great watch. On the other hand, the 15202 has never really appealed to me.

both great watches
the SD brings more to the table than an average rolex with its complication so its harder to justify the AP movement as being superior which is the usual winner for AP vs Rolex i prefer AP in general but prefer that particular SD to that particular AP however only you can make the decision

Haha, this happened to me today. After I took off the 44mm beast I put on my YG Subc and it felt like a 36mm SS. Funny that after the YG had so often done this to my SS watches the AP was now doing this to it. Anyway after half an hour I got used to it again and so I think you can live with both. I like the contrast in my watches, such as a Nautilus which is small and simple, and the AP which is big and multi-layered.

I would. The sky dweller has both a tougher movement and more interesting complication. It will be easier to service and should keep fantastic time for 10 years. Skyd in person and in the wild is striking imo.

You're 15202 is way nicer than a skydweller.

No way keep the AP! Gawd Taeham! What are you thinking OP? The Skydweller reminds me of the Blinged out Breitling Super Avengers of the early to mid 2000s that all the rappers used to wear.
