You say "addicted" like it's a bad thing.

I am not addicted I can stop anytime. I've completely stopped 10 times in the past two years.

I'm in the same boat Chadri. Collected boomers, then slicers, now tickers. Not so much inclined towards the booms and points any more but I can't stop looking at watches.

I think addiction means you forgo necessities in pursuit of the thing you're addicted to. I make sure watches come last after everything else is covered.

It's definately a compulsion to add to or trade to modify a collection.
Whatever you call it, I'm hooked.

I do love Rolex watches. They just make the perfect sports watch IMHO. Don't think I'm addicted though at one point I would say I spent a lot of time looking at photos and snapping pics of my two subs but not really anymore.

At least you were honest enough to own up to it in your name

I also see that you are 9 steps through the 12 steps programme. With our support you will add those last 3 watches and be a better person for it

There are many times that I feel I might be addicted to watches. The problem now is that I am now looking for the next "high", maybe an AP then a Patek?

No.

And I don't think anyone else is either.

It is just a matter of getting the "rush" of a certain type of purchase. And different people, with different means and interests will manifest that in different ways.

Quite simply, it is a way to stave off the monotony of day to day life. Which is actually pretty sad if you think about it too hard.

Just my opinion.

Is anyone actually addicted to these watches? Like..bought so many and can't stop? New releases come out and they HAVE to have it? I think we joke around that we are all addicts, but I'm curious if anyone has so many they (or their friends/family) think it's a problem.

I have two myself, and am already looking at a third. Luckily (or unluckily..) I don't make enough money to justify a third, so I will just be window shopping for a while.
I don't think being 'addicted' to Rolex watches translates in to the actual purchase, and the acquiring of brand new models.

I have a couple of Rolex's and other premium brands within my collection and I literally come home from work and read watch magazines, watch watch-related youtube videos and view this site, every single day. I pretty much eat, sleep, breath watches, other than my other main attention which is my wife.

I would say I'm pretty addicted to watches and I gauge the addiction based on time you think/act on watches rather than just the buying.

This site has without a doubt helped my addiction.

I posted this on a different thread earlier today from Rolexdiver on Instagram. I'd say he has kinda an addiction & is building up a nice collection. I think he might have another incoming soon too ..

I am content right now with what I have ...
Thinking of adding 1 more but in the future ...
