Curious how this works with those who have purchased their Pateks either from grey dealers or preowned such that their names aren't on the original Patek paperwork. This create any conflict from Patek's end having online registration diverge from paperwork ownership?

No, not at all. There's actually an option to choose in the application to indicate if it's been bought new, second hand, inherited etc so they don't mind if you're not the original owner.

Where do you find the customer ID number? Is it on the certificate of origin?
