S$8,770, which will run you about Aus$8,300 on today's money. He can get one, no drama, but no discounts. Drop me a message closer to the time and I'll get things in place for you. Make it a couple of weeks beforehand just in case I'm away on a job

Thank you so much

I'll definitely shoot you a PM a couple of weeks out from my trip. They are the same price here in Aus, but impossible to get. Maybe by April next year your AD can offer a little discount. The explorer will be over a year old and Basel World 2017 would have come and gone. But more importantly, hopefully no price increases before then, fingers crossed. See what happens

Thanks again

hhmmm...not sure
The place where you are supposed to declare items is completely separate from customs. The way the airport is laid out, it's right next to the exit and nothing compulsory that you have to walk through it. Most just walk past.

Like others said, you're in transit, so it doesn't matter. Just make sure to keep the receipt handy.

I assumed that this was because some Aussies had gotten pissed in the airport and made idiots of themselves, so this was the Singaporean or airline's solution - but there may be more to it, and it may apply to other goods.
It's more to do with the liquids restriction, also applies to liquid/gel cosmetics. They're meant to hand you the product "at the gate".

Also they won't sell to you when there's 30mins or less till departure as they can't guarantee their runner can't get the bag to you before gate closing.

Unless the watch is remaining in Thailand after you leave i.e. Gift or for sale, there is no reason to declare it
