Yeah. Luckily for us there are different versions, if I didn't have 3 black dialed watches already I think I would have bought a black 216570.
Well I'm glad to know I wasn't gonna get flamed for my thoughts!!! Blue dial sub, here I come!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wanted a white-dialled watch for a while. Specifically with a GMT function. The Omega 'Great White' 2538.20. I also tried both Polar Exp. II (40 and 42mm).
I hugely preferred the 16570. I have smaller wrists anyway, and the larger maxi case looked overblown and cartoonish to me. Almost childlike. The colour and proportions of the 16570 hit it for me. I did also try the black, and felt underwhelmed by it. |

White or grey dials on white metal can look a bit bland and monochrome, I prefer the black dial.

To me, the EXII was made to be on white...

In this watches case pictures really do make it look cool. I felt the same way after trying it on a few times. I took the risk as it wasn't my only watch amd I'm a flip aholic. It's pretty awesome after having it for a few days and appreciated how it feels on and how the dial truly changes in different lighting because of the lume. As an only watch I'd have to pass but for nice change of up I would recommend to anyone.

I love polar dials and think the Explorer's are awesome! I have a 16570.

I like the polar too, but have the black instead. I think the black is a bit more versatile. If you like the exp ii but are unsure on the white, maybe try the black. The orange and white pops out of the dial.
Horses for courses, but I prefer the 42mm case - I've always found the 40's look a little small on my wrist (personal taste I know...) |

I think it's the most legible Rolex. You will appreciate it when you get older.

I own the Polar Explorer II and a white dial Day Date II. For me, the white dial moves the watches into a different realm. So much of what we see is the dark dials but the white is so crisp. I was late to the 42 mm Explorer game but since I have owned it I have never considered flipping it. It wears great and you do not see them everywhere.

Get what you like - your tastes shift when you get that watch on your wrist!
Try them on. I had no idea I would end up with a Sub no date - no idea. |

My 42 polar is my favorite watch (and I've owned them all...). It really separates itself from the other sports models. IMHO they got everything right on this watch:
- Different size (bold, but not too big) - Different case style - Different bracelet style (tapered) - Different style bezel - Black on white w/ orange accent - Bold markers and hands Add the sub clasp and it would be the perfect watch... It's great that Rolex makes a big variety because people just like (and dislike) different things. I don't like the old 40mm explorer II (Snooze Master), the yacht II (Clown Master), the Milguass & Airking (why?). LOL, not faulting the guys that love those. Some people hate green faces, some hate yellow or rose gold. I don't even understand the Daytona thing (blasphemy in these parts...). No date, are you kidding me ;) I know some guys that won't even try it on if it's not vintage. Bottom line: It's good to have so many choices in one manufacturer's line and I really enjoy seeing others passions and opinions, even if I see it different. (but your completely wrong about the polar EXP...)

love the polar - infact so much I have the white and black EXP42. However, for the dial colour I went with the milgauss Z Blue....but was a little disappointed with the azure blue in sunlight, had a DJII rhodium (LOVED that dial in all light )...hated the bezel size..... flipped them both for a DJ41 Chocolate/everose gold....FANTASTIC... but this is off topic soz.
White dials are easier to read in most lights - I do ski in my polar and I hike in my black faced EXP....never been near a cave in either though, so still not used for them what they were intended!
