You've kept it this long without missing it, and as the money isn't an issue, you're choices are trade it for something else (Rolex or the like) you do want, OR, put it back in storage. Either way, I wouldn't wear it, store it until you've decided what to do.

Since you already have a Daytona (black-faced), sell the white-faced one and keep opening boxes :)

First of all, I wouldn't call this a problem. This is like finding cash in your old jacket pocket except, in your case, the cash is $10k. Secondly, you thought you had sold this so, at one time, you must have wanted to flip it. If it was mine, and I already had a black dial, I'd sell it.

Bingo. Is OP a high production run sales guy or what? To have so many watches that he came across one he did not know he had, well that is a disease.

I can see how this can happen.

Hang on to it I say. I would only sell if the funds were required for something else (watch or otherwise)

Just played 18 holes - went to my golf bag and in amongst all my golf balls I found a BLNR that I forgot I had.

Should I sell it or keep it???

It's not a Ceramic Daytona which is the model getting ridiculous premiums, but assuming it is in great shape I'm sure you can get the high end of the market price for that reference. Likely out of warranty. Since you obviously have no use for it, I'd sell it and put it towards something you'd rather have ... or.... give it to a lucky family member for Christmas.

PS, would you like to adopt me? I'm potty trained.

If you could use the money now I'd sell it NOS, probably would fetch a premium.
If you don't need the money forget about it for another 5-10 years.

Nice problem to have!

If you have enough money to forget you purchase a 12k watch then idk what to tell you. Probably sell it because if you forgot about it you clearly don't want it.

If you don't care about the money, and the potential appreciation a fully stickered discontinued NOS watch may bring (yeah, there are thousands of 116520 out there, but same is said about the damn 16710 and those prices are only going up...), then sell it on so someone else can wear it.

I will send you $5000, you send me the watch.

Stick the $5000 back in the box you found the watch.

Put a note in your calendar to check random box in 7 years.

Think of what a great day it will be to open that box and find $5000 LARGE!

Of course it will only be worth $4000 by then, but still!

I find it quite hard to believe you could just forget about such a valuable piece but I suppose it's poss if you have more money that you know what to do with. Perhaps consider selling the watch and donating the proceeds to charity.... doesn't sound like you'd miss the watch or the money

Holy crap! What a coincidence. I just went out to my garage and found a car that I had completely forgotten I owned. Lucky day I guess.
