Glad you are safe, sorry about your watch. But atleast you weren't shot for a pair of Jordans. Kids are killing people for a pair of sneakers.

Important thing is you're more or less safe..I'd take a breather and let the police figure it out...watch can always be replaced.

Sorry about this OP. As stated you should report to police and rolex with serial number. Call the local second hand stores and pawn shops and ask them to keep an eye out for the model and give a description of the theif. Also keep an eye out on local classifieds online for sale and ebay. There is a good chance if you do all this that you might come across it in the next few months or the police will. Good luck.

Awful for you - and hoping there's luck with the authorities finding the perpetrator and your property. Any chance public security CCTV or webcam video from neighbors might have caught the incident?

So sad to read this. Stay strong and know that it is a blessing that you were not injured more than you are. Can't imagine how you must feel. Hoping you have a fast recovery of your injuries and your watch.

Really sorry to hear about this, but glad your are somewhat okay. As others mentioned, the wounds will heal. File that police report ASAP. Check local ads and pawnshops. I hope your watch makes it back to you. and I hope these scumbag(s) get caught.

+1 to everything that was said here.

I think you can also report stolen directly to Rolex, in case it ever pops up in their global network.

Terrible news OP. Glad to see you're not severely hurt. They'll get what's coming to them. As others said, report to the police and local pawn shops. Any chance you had insurance?

I'm so sorry this happened. Be careful out there guys, especially during the holidays as people are watching. Always check your review mirror when you've been out and headed home to make sure you aren't being followed.

I'm really gutted for you.

I lost my 16613 in October. My valuables bag was snatched from the gym. Wallet, watch, phones, everything.
The initial pain was terrible but it does ease in time. I've put the episode behind me and have moved on. I've got a 116613 on order now which is due around Feb 17.

One thing though, keep on at the police for updates on your case.

Thanks for your messages guys, I really appreciate them. The police arrived on the spot within minutes last night and took a statement, providing me with a crime reference number. Do I contact the Watch Gallery in selfridges where I purchased the watch?

Sorry, my head is all over the place this morning. Right eye is black and completely closed. Too much of a coincidence that they demanded the watch and yanked it off my wrist. They knew exactly what they wanted and didn't touch anything else. Very few people know I wore a Rolex and my sleeves were always covered even in the warmer months.

To those of you who haven't insured your watches, please do so. Even for peace of mind. Took me a long time to be able to afford one and then upgrade so doubt I'll be able to get another anytime soon.

You make a very good point about covering up a Rolex in London. All to often you hear of Rolexes being stolen from people's arms. Is it possible you were followed home. If so CCTV maybe your friend.

Sorry to hear mate. Didn't think an sd4k would even get noticed let alone make you a target for this sort of thing! Where about was this? Hopefully it will turn up somewhere and get returned to you.

Hi Adam,

No I didn't. There were 3/4 of them and ambushed me as I tried to use my fob to the communal entrance to my flat. They just appeared out of nowhere.
