I'm going to be a bit against the grain here.. I feel that Rolex is an outstanding company and I gladly dump money on them, but diversification is a beautiful thing. I would personally snag the 2 tone sub, and then diversify with maybe a slightly nicer Pam like a 233 or 422. You can use both rubber and leather straps on those, thus a sport/dressier option, and the bluesy is super flexible with its application as both a dress and sports watch, so you will truly have a watch for any and all occasions. I'm not a huge breitling fan, although the chronomat/avenger/navitimers are always classics on in my book, with pretty impressive finishing (despite what the breitling haters say).
The Pam 90 has never done anything for me personally, and I would much prefer a 1950s case, like the 422, 423, or 233. |

$15k - Which Would You Choose?
I would guess you could do a nice package deal from a trusted seller on bnib 116613lb and a 114060 as an option in your budget.
I think a decent 16618 will run more than 15k for sure a 116618 will run more. If you found one for 14k that is in good shape that is a great deal. Add a little to your budget and look at a Tudor for a black dialed daily.

Where the heck are you going to find a 116618lb for $15-16k?

I like option 2, looking for a nice blue gold sub myself but will be hard to find at your price point.

Forget the Rolex options. For $15K get something complicated or vintage. I'd steer to PP, AP. Perhaps save another $5K and get a 15202 AP.

For that Budget forget the gold sub. You wont get one for that price for sure. If you can I'll buy it now.

If it has to be gold and sub 15k I'm looking at omega speedys or I'm stretching for 116655 or 116515.

Not sure a gold sub is doable at 14-16K ...
I'd just buy a mint 15202 for around 16K and call it a day :)

They're available for between 16K-17K preowned. There are a ton of great sellers, literally all over the world, not just here on TRF. The hunt is the best part
