Nope. The dive time is tracked by the movable bezel.

If i did dive which i dont i dont need to know seconds into the dive. I'll just come up once the safetime comes via the bezel.

No. The Submariner is a dive watch. Large lumed hands for visibility under water + timing bezel. Don't understand these diver chronos.

JLC has the deep sea Chronograph, and is stunning. I'm sure it would be interesting...

Nah. The only sub I am generally drawn to is a ND sub. The lesser on the dial the better on that watch. Starts looking too clunky otherwise.

I think not. Because I already have Daytona and Sea Dweller but Submariner Chronograph would be cool

I love some of the responses. People saying "that wouldn't make sense" "I already have a Daytona", etc.
Right, because nobody has any overlap in their collection. People have 5 of the same watch here, but all of a sudden logic comes into play....funny
I'm sure they could make a plastic submariner with fruit loops as subdials and people would buy it

That's what the Daytona is for, WR 100m is good enough for most dives

I don't think it'll ever happen but hypothetically speaking, I'd probably still choose the standard Sub.

Would you buy a Submariner Chronograph?

Omega sells a lot of them - so why wait for Rolex if you're so inclined...

BTW, I've done that and it was flipped in 6 months - as a multitasker it lacked something...couldn't put my finger on it, but not for me.

As for a Daytona Diver, if they could get the owners who bought it to screw down the pushers before going too deep, then it'd be a success. At least the fairly useless Daytona bezel "real estate" would be pit to better use.

no for a few reasons:

1. chronographs on Omegas look weird to me, its all bunched together, I just don't see it working that well without ruining the watch
2. we already have the daytona which is the perfect chrono as far as everyone is concerned
3. rolex isn't exactly stupid. its not like "hey lets add a chrono to submariner" wasn't brought up in their meetings. I'm sure the mock ups just didn't do a Rolex justice and were scrapped

Do you know what you're talking about? Are you confused between chronometer and chronograph? Rolex makes only one model which is a chronograph, the Daytona. All Rolex oysters are chronometer rated.

I think everyone just went sarcastic to OP in replying no for the suggestion of Submariner Chronograph.

I don't think it is a bad assumption/suggestion/prediction at all if you compare all the watch brands all over the world. From Tag Heuer to Omega to Breitling to Jaeger Le-coultre to Blancpain has a CHRONOGRAPH watch in their diver collection apart from regular sport Chronograph watches. Rolex has just 1 type of Chronograph which is sports chronograph. They can add 2 more to their collection - a dressy chronograph and another diver chronograph.

They are missing out for no reason. I can understand that they got into their own in-house chronograph movement pretty late (2000) and didn't get more in other categories of chronograph. But eventually I would like to see a dress chronograph watch from Rolex and possibly even a diver chronograph.

Is it wrong to have multiple chronograph in a single watch brand? Of course not. Dressy chronograph is as good as it can get. Diver chronograph can be still done as its done by almost all of the top brands and it will no way replace the regular Submariner watch.
