Ok, I'll take you serious, just for a bit, mainly b/c I have looked at your old posts and you seem new to Rolex and excited about them.

Yes, a lot of this forum is what we own. Like showing pictures of grandchildren that no one else cares about except the grandparents. Well, we are all grandparents here so to speak and we love the beauty of looking at these watches from different angles, over and over and over again. So, those posts are pretty easy to ignore if you don't like....

All those pointless numbers you speak of are VITAL information in determining the age and originality of the watch. Very important to collectors. We are obsessive and know the model numbers by heart. Nothing wrong with that and if you want to know what one of those numbers mean, just ask or check out the FAQ. As in ANY collecting area, people are experts and use shorthand to talk about what they love. I needed some help on my Mazda one time (used to own) and I went to a Mazda forum. For me, it was like reading alien, but the forum members "dumbed" it down for me and helped me out. Much like ANYONE here would.

If you just hang around for a bit and ask the "dumb" questions, we'll help!
