a better pic i just took... the ding at 4:00 on bezel was actually at 10:00 before AP serviced.. they actually flip the bezel 6 for 12 at service (when refinish not requested) so the bezel wears more evenly.
Well said Sir, and what a beauty!

I remember when my son was young on his skateboard and he smashed into the garage door. Once we realized he was OK it was actually quite funny. It left a big old dent in the door. It was a great reminder wonderful family day. I got the garage door fixed.

The same son on a different skateboard a year later scratched the side of a BMW had a few years ago pretty good. No I did not kill my son. However I got the scratch fixed.

I agree with you. Different strokes for different folks. I would no sooner drive my luxury sedan through the rocky roads of a state park I visit every year nor would I wear one of my luxury watches to work on a car. When working in the shop I don't wear a watch. During outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing or shooting sports if I wear a watch then I wear a solar powered Casio G-Shock.

You are not alone here when it comes to the thought that scarring up a beautiful luxury watch as being cool or memorable. I wonder, if for some of you there is a line to be drawn as to when you would no longer take it as being cool. What if you were wearing it SS Patek 5711? Would you guys wear that beauty while working on a car engine? How about a luxury watch with a crocodile or leather strap? I have argued before that this could be it an income thing. I suppose if the 5711 to me would be no more important then what $50 this to somebody else then I would not care if it got beat to crap because I would know I could turn right around and buy another one anytime I wanted without feeling any financial pain. That could be one thing. But even then, to me at least, it would still make no sense to be happy about it. If I was a billionaire and while getting out of my $400,000 Lamborghini I banged by $200,000 AP putting a scratch on it I'm quite confident I would still be pissed off.

Anyway YMMV obviously. At the end of the day it's your money and your watches. Enjoy them as you see fit.
