Legibility, especially the date, is better on the 5167. A simple dial has a cleaner appearance than a watch that has many complications on the dial. Sometimes the pushers on the 5164 will accidentally be pushed and change the hour hand. |

Upgrade Aquanauts? Is it worth it?
Quote:
Hmm maybe 1-2 days out of the week. The 5711 about the same, and the 5167 3-4 days. The SubC almost zero wrist time, it's just there for when I go to the beach or if might do something that requires a beater Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

Looks like your 5711 is in the for sale section as of this morning.

I made the upgrade and have never looked back. But, I do travel across time zones regularly.

A GMT would be a nice addition. Why not trade the sub for a GMT

Good decision to keep the 5167. If it's your favourite, why trade it? Doesn't make sense to me

Upgraded from 5167 to 5164. Love the case design and symmetry, complication and heft of the 5164.
I have something for buttons on the watch. Makes me feel more connected to it. Haha. Downside of 5164 is that the date cannot be seen easily and often covered by the minute or hour hand. I used to swim with the 5617 but don't dare with the 5164 which has more points of potential water seepage. Does not wear as comfortable as well. |

There are four Nautilus in my collection yet am still tempted to add a 5164. These posts aren't helping.

Yup that's what I foresee would happen if I add The Daytona C . One of the 2 Rollie's will suffer; so the only rational way to add the Daytona is to get rid off the Hulk ; and I am not sure that the Daytona can do all that the hulk can do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well good, because you made me consider that maybe the Hulk instead of my black SubC is a better option and will give me more variety.

@Mikegp - I'm so curious. Did you always like the aquanaut? I really didn't like it at first but it's really started to grow on me. People, like you, who have similar taste as me really seem to praise it. (sorry to derail the thread)

Tough decision
Funny thing, I don't think either the 5164 or 5167 looks amazing in the photos on Patek's website. But in person or seeing some photos people have posted here - beautiful!
I'd love either one but just ordered a 15202 so will have to wait. |

Other observation is that 5164 has whiter lumes, whereas 5167's greenish.
Not sure if this is accurate and I never had them side by side. |

Thanks.
Date setting on the 5164 requires a pin pusher, which you may not have with you all the time. Have been advised by patek service centre against using a tooth pick as splinters might jam the pin and cause damage. |
