I have a turbo. It is custom ordered and pretty loaded. Drives pretty good for a CUV. Definitely get CPO if going used. Maintenance is more expensive than say MB or BMW. Price to pay to drive a premium brand.

Also, watch out for options. Porsche is all about options if you find a seemingly "Good deal"
It could be a weird optioned/ low option vehicle. Premium plus package is a must (has everything you would expect a lux car to have. Sunroof is amazing.

One thing I have to warn you about is maintenance oil changes are routinely 600-700 from the dealership. My 20k check up was 1200 for some ungodly reason (oil plus turbo cleaning). Tires will be wonderful I am sure.

All in all it is a fun car. Just watch for options and be ready to pay Porsche prices/ maintenance.

I love my car, but I will get rid of my current one in a bit. I had it for about 5 K miles and got rearended on the interstate by a gentleman texting. 20k in damages later (I got a sum for depreciation as well) the car looks fine, but notup to my standards.

Wow I guess you really like them with your user name
Good write up

The Macan is a fun daily driver. It's small and nimble.

That said, if you don't need one, keep yours.

I have a Macan GTS (daily as Ferrari is the garage queen/weekender) and it fits the bill perfectly for what I wanted: something a bit more utilitarian and grown-up than a "hot hatch." A little pricey for what you get IMO, but it'll do!

Personally i would stick to the Porsche Cayenne and not go for the Macan. Its a little too small of an SUV for a guy. Its kind of like the BMW X5 compared to the BMW X3.

I don't need a Cayenne and yes red leather is maybe a bit to much but the cream interior reality is sweet looking. No kids so it'll stay clean

GTS is nice to but all that power is not needed maybe the S model is fine. I like the Gold one but maybe I'll get the white gold lol or blue one to match my 116619

I agree with this. I plan on getting one in a year or so. However, I think you'll find that Rolex forum members love acquiring Rolexes like none other, but are probably a lot more practical about other things, so that's why some may say wait.

Here's the deal, only you know you. So, if you can buy it and want it, get it. I think the Macan is such a great looking SUV that will do you well. Plus I hate the car you own now, but that's just personal preference haha

Don't get a Cayenne. They are completely changing the looks at the end of this year for the 2018 model. If you want a Cayenne wait till around November.

Good advice, but I don't think they'll "completely" change it. At least from the outside.

If you want to get an idea of what the new Cayenne will look like, go take a look at the new Panamera. I suspect the outside of the Cayenne will be 95% the same; same profile, same length/height/weight +/- a bit. It'll get new lights, new taillights, some mechanical improvements and engine differences, of course.

But the interior... again, go check out the Panamera. It's beautiful! Just attended our local dealer's "reveal" party a couple of days ago and my wife was just oohing and ahhing over it. And cars usually are just "eh" for her.

So... you can wait for 2018 and get the latest and greatest. Or wait until they're announced and get a leftover 2017 with probably a nice discount.

Or stick with the Macan, of course. :D

Agreed with others... if going Cayenne route, wait a few months until the 2018 model is revealed. Early spy pics of the interior is showing a similarity to that of the new Panamera, which is really refined.

Good luck either way!

Thanks
But 100% sure I'm not getting a Cayenne. No more hauling kids and stuff and Macan is just a dream to drive and perfect size for me now. Amazing drive yesterday

Hi Roger..
Go drive one. Like I said I'm not a car person but this was so nice. It has these paddle shifters on the steering wheel, car shuts off at stop lights and when you wanna go you just press the gas pedal and it starts up again, quickly and quietly like it was never shut off.

You press break pedal down at stop lights and the breaks stay on until you hit the gas again, so you don't have to hold break pedal the times your stopped. All wheel drive and it goes back and forth from front wheels to back automatically depending on how you drive. Leather seats are well made or you can get suede inlet instead.

Huge sun roof, air conditioned seats lol. This was the S Model and way to much stuff to list here and some options are well known to most car guys but new to me so I was blown away. The sales guy who is like 25 knew everything to questions I asked because he owns one, I'm like whaaast. He's license plate is vanity and say PORSCHE I'm like how'd you get that he said it just became available. Not important but interesting to me.

Awesome light package on front and rear, 19-21 inch wheels options, front vents open up when you go a certain speed for turbo charger to grab cool air. So quick and smooth.

The work shop was spotless, incredible the way I was treated. Offferd me a diet Coke had great things to say about the biggest Porsche dealer in Florida if not the country Champion. Not even a bit of pressure when I said I want to look at the dealer in Florida as well.

Going back Friday to drive the 4 cylinder just to try it, I know I'll be underwhelmed with the power but have to see the difference.

Big decision for me, not for a lot of guys, but like I said a vehicle is a big deal to me and have a limit on what I pay for something that'll drop down in price 20%-30% after you sign paper work unless preowned. Maintenance, warranty, insurance, depreciation all factors to me.

Some nice help here in the forum with PM back and forth too

That's awesome my friend -- sounds like an overall great experience and that you've really done your homework on it!!

Buddy of mine has a Cayenne -- but saw the Macan several months back and kinda thought that might be worth a look!

Will be looking forward to the incoming!
