The important thing is you like it and enjoy it. Preowned prices will bottom out and resurface eventually. I bet you won't find anyone wearing your same watch and I find that really cool, personally.

The Less i see Them the More i like Mine.
And... SDDS has never been a top seller a la Sub, and everytime someone on my forum in Italy posts an 'incoming' it's always a Blue one.
So... considering i don't like 'trends' @all... i'm very happy with that.
When someone buy a SDDS... he really loves the model (same as the legendary 16600)

i have owned a sea dweller tt sub blue face and a rose gold presidential.

now i just own the dssd and am very happy. i do not miss any of the other watches.

i would love to have a daytona if they were a bit bigger.

For me at the moment the DS seems to be a great value (~15% off retail), and I have the wrist for it.

thats just as much a function of that watch having been released almost a decade ago and every SD being a bit of a niche in the lineup.

time will tell, but id expect the same over a long enough period of time with any watch - unless production volumes are kept down.

I'm not so sure. I think think the DSSD is too big for many people's wrists, whereas the others will fit almost anyone.

However, if they do discontinue the DSSD, there'll be another feeding frenzy.

Agreed! SD43 is way overpriced for some red lettering. After the hype I'm betting you'll get them at a deep discount.

The AD I got my SD43 said this morning that their wait list is now over 100 for the new SD. Unless other countries are flooded with them then they'll stay very strong!

Not even remotely true, the fact that most of the guys interested in this watch owns/thinks about owning a deep sea is wanting/buying the sd43 should give you a clue to who this watch caters to.

But I'll agree, at the end of the day size is subjective...I'd let people make their own calls on size.

With regards to demand and lists....I still think it'll be another sea dweller sales repeat after the hype.

I certainly don't disagree that sales of the SD 43 will be strong for some time, but I think you will find that potential buyers put their names on multiple AD lists and that many end up not making the purchase when the call comes. Once the initial crush passes, the SD 43 will be as available as any other Rolex, at least in my opinion.

You've got that upside-down! It's not about the people interested in the watch, it's that the dimensions preclude many people from considering it!

I totally agree.

Interestingly I was just mooching around Italy this last couple of weeks checking out the state of the Rolex scene.
Obviously it's dependent upon where one goes but I saw about 2.5 times more SS Subs than DSSD's.
One AD had 2 of each SubC with one of each on display in the window and the same inside the shop. They had a single DSSD MKII along side them which I assume is very old stock in the window.
Another dealer had one of each SubC, and another dealer had one SubC and a DSSD.

That's an interesting perspective.

Try picking up an original 4 digit Red of any description and compare the price you pay for it as opposed to the SD43.

I know which one I would take any day and to give you a hint it has 904L SS exclusively with an all new tech movement and lots more
