With regards to the above questions, it's a long story which I won't delve into here except to say that I started my collection much later than most, and would like to leave each of my three boys a comparable watch when I'm gone. That's the simple answer.
You need 3 Rolexes for parody, if that is the situation. Family Heirlooms

Legacy is a factor Neil, but only so far as having one for each of them. I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon, so I'm simply going to buy what gives me satisfaction and that I'll enjoy wearing, hopefully for many years.

Glad to hear that Angelo, let them take what they're given.

OP blue dial for sure. The AK is like an ugly version of the explorer and the nomos is just not worth it.

I think op blue too. A thought though, you could flip the exp and get the AK and the OP if the AK floats your boat more than the explorer?

I voted for the Air-King although I would go for a pre-owned one like my 114200

So, it looks like the OP came out ahead in the poll which confirmed my initial thoughts. Even though the Nomos got only 3.66% of the votes I still think it's a wonderful watch and haven't ruled it out.
Thanks to all for your input.

I was also looking at a JLC Mut moon although in black not silver. However this new dial JLC Reserve de Marche may just clinch it.

I voted for the blue dial OP. Adds some color to your already sweet collection.

My vote is OP with the color options that offered and uncluttered dial. I'm interested in the Tangente myself, great simple dress watch option.

Get a Patek and save it for the one who treats you the best when you're old

I think the OP is the best of the choices, although it might be nice to diversify out of the Rolex brand a bit. How set are you on no complications? Would you consider a date window?

The Tangente is absolutely a terrific dress watch.

Not interested in Patek even if I could afford one.

The Explorer was my first, and still only Rolex. I would never flip it simply because it's my favorite in the entire Rolex catalog.

Lucky for me, the ones I like the best are also the least expensive.

Although my Nomos has a date I'm pretty well set on no complications. It's just my personal preference.
Really the only other brands that interest me are Nomos and possibly Omega. And believe me, I've looked. That's one of the advantages of being retired.
