Deepsea blue.....I didn't see this coming.

Prefer the DSSD Blue ... the blue only comes into play under strong/direct lighting ... All black, all the time seems a little boring!

I had the same thoughts. I really wanted a deepsea blue. Saw one at an AD (on hold for someone else). It is great. No doubts. To me, just my opinion, is that the blue looks more casual while the black stands out as a diver's tool watch. Ideally - I'd have both!

I do have both.
The D-blue dial doesn't look so vibrant in low light conditions with the only colour that stands out a little being the green text.

As we know, under shop lights or out in the daylight the blue part of the dial really pops. The D-blue has multiple personalities in that regard

Makes sense to me to re-add the black DSSD. It was high on my list until I got the call for an SD43. Fully understand your view of the blue and black being quite different watches.

If I were in that position, I'd think about adding the SD43 which would give you the black dial back but in a different watch. Bigger than a Sub but not quite the size of the Beast.

Agree that used, the Black is great value

As long as you're happy with it is all that matters. I have a black Rolex 5513 and a blue Tudor 79090. They are both subs, but like you said they have very different personalities.

I chose the black dssd the green writing turned me off on the dblue. In a perfect world I'd have all three (new sea dweller ) so if your in the position to get both or all three lol and you want to....do it for sure. And I while I like the new sea dweller I would still take the dssd black over the new seadweller.

Both are best. I have the blue dial but the black looks great too. Good thing to hear that you are keeping both.

They are both beautiful with the contrasting colors but I would have played it safe as well with the all black.
