I like both but on the 36 mm DJ I prefer the stick dial.

White stick dial + fluted bezzel + jubilee - that's a recepie to a perfect classic 36 Datejust for me.

I'm thinking of a 36mm DJ myself at the moment, but it'll be diamond markers. Between your two choices, it'd be sticks every time for me; I don't care for Romans at all.

Sticks, imo 36mm with roman looks too busy due to its size.

I prefer stick over roman markers too. Forget about what's popular and just buy what you like!

Although I prefer sticks, the new models are too fat and not long enough. So Romans with lume would have been nice, but the idiots stopped making it. As a result not interested in any of them, but if I was forced, sticks. Lume is essential for a man, to say you don't need lume just doesn't make sense in my experience/ opinion, as the DJ is suppose to be a 'versatile' piece. The one watch to do it all.

I always appreciate watches with lume over those without lume. That makes the choice for me.

For the 36mm - sticks/batons, fluted bezel, and jubilee bracelet is my favorite combo. Mine includes these and it clocks more hours on my wrist than any of my other watches.

It was difficult choice for me. Many sources suggested stick lume wasn’t great, therefore not a huge consideration. Are Roman numerals really more popular? I loved both but ended up selecting sticks. The lume is better than expected. Though dim, it lasts through the night. At the theater, the projection light washes out being able to see lume on the dial, at least for me. IMO the great thing about Rolex—either style is a winner.

I have Roman on my two DJ’s with white dials and I think they great.
I think the DJ’s with darker dials look better with the sticks!

I'm a huge fan of the Romans, but as someone else said, it looks a bit too busy on a 36mm dial IMO.
