I chose fluted for my 41 and absolutely love it. I just found the smooth to look a bit "incomplete."

I just bought my DJ41 a few weeks ago. Fluted, Jubilee, blue dial.
I am constantly blown away by the fluted WG bezel and the way its facets reflect light all over walls the the ceiling of my car and buildings etc. it's fantastic!
The Jubilee is more trad Rolex and pure Datejust [and only $200 more in Au] whereas the smooth [vs fluted bezel is] heaps more.
The smooth with Oyster is halfway to a sub or GMT to me and works great for a sportier look but the smooth bezel would definitely scratch like crazy.
As said above..no wrong answers here but I do recommend the combo I chose and have zero regrets.

I went smooth. I could not be happier.

I think with the jubilee, the fluted makes it a bit too busy.

With oyster, I think fluted.

But tell you what, smooth, silver, jubilee. Dayum.

For this guy, it's an absolute winner.

I have just had this same decision to make, it completely depends on how you plan to wear the watch. the fluted does look great however it bounces light off so much you could signal a boing 747 with it. As I plan on using mine for more everyday use I chose the smooth as it flys under the radar a bit more. The last thing I want is for a customer to shout out "WOW THATS A FLASH ROLEX"

Will be getting a DJII or DJ41 soon. Going fluted. Smooth bezel never an option for me.

The standard WIS-dom says fluted/jubilee and smooth/oyster...but I've got to say, I am really liking the smooth/jubilee combo (that I never thought I would).

I'm going the other way after tossing it around for quite some time.
I think Fluted with Oyster will be my next choice.

Dial colour is another matter all together with white being the front runner by a clear margin.

For most people Flash and Rolex are synonyms, it is only us maniacs that dissect these watches further.

I chose fluted + jubilee! Five years ago I would have chosen the opposite. The older I get I'm embracing classic Rolex where I used to want only the sporty or minimal stuff. I've even got a TT on my radar next. :)
