I used to check the accuracy, but don't care now.
I change watches every day, so usually have to reset them at some point during the week.
Only two I keep running 24/7, and might adjust the time onc/month

I have a Timex digital which I check for accuracy in the cockpit using the satellite clock (Atomic Clock?) and it gains or loses a second or two here and there as well. No big deal, I just reset it and get back to more important things.

If everyone on here added up their lost seconds and combined with those who gained seconds, I'll bet you'd find that we're all keeping perfect, or at least almost perfect time, with our mechanical Rolexes. Just a thought.

Also, the time it takes me to look at my watch to check its accuracy far exceeds any loss or gain in seconds that I'm going to worry about. By the time I figure out the loss or gain, I've already lost several more seconds.

As far as checking my phone for the correct time goes, I have a Blackberry on which I have to manually update the time using the server. It is often off by about a minute when I change time zones and turn it on after a flight. For something that is supposed to be part computer and digital, etc., it keeps lousy time.

Just my 2 or 3 cents, give or take a few cents depending on how long it took you to read this.

I want my watches to perform within published specifications.

To determine that requires some observation over a period of time.

I don't expect my $5000 Rolex Explorer to keep time as well as my $30 Casio Waveceptor, but as long as both are performng as promised, I'm happy.

Right now, my Explorer is gaining an average of about 7.5 seconds per day, roughly 2.5 seconds faster than COSC standards. I'm not overly concerned about that, but in about two weeks, if it has not slowed down a bit, I'll get it adjusted.

Rolex Explorer

Casio Waveceptor

Yes, I love them both equally.

I don't check it either. The only time I had a watch regulated was when it was losing 4-5mins a day! by the end of the week I would be late for everything... LOL.
A few seconds here or there don't matter... to me anyways.
