Supply and demand dictates price. In addition, you cannot rationalize the cost of precious metals as they relate to luxury jewelry.

I like two tone in virtually all Rolex watches, except the Daytona.
I just don't care for the way it looks. |

The value of the gold in a two tone wont be a massive proportion of the selling cost. Two tone watches have the least demand, highest discount percentage and weakest residuals.
I personally do not like the look of them and would never own one. |

I think this SS vs TT price "flip" happens with Rolex Submariners as well. I've shopped for two tone sub vintage 16803 and oddly the SS version is the same price, and sometimes more than the same TT Submariner.
But I agree with above, the TT Daytona is even less liked than the TT Sub or GMT. Full gold will always be more expensive, but resale will be slower than SS. TT is a little different, as it is not in the demand like SS, and may not get the higher price either. |

It’s even mad to see ss Daytona c costing nearly as much as RG & YG Daytona C.

The one that is all gold is offering only a little more expensive than steel, sometimes 20/25% more. Now if there are operations done I doubt it.
I do not understand either |
