Is their an option for both?

I think with the subtle GMT green hand, the LN is a bit more versatile over the EXII. If you want under the radar, Explorer II. If you want a recognizable Rolex, 116710LN.

I concur and that is my dilemma. I work for a $14b company and will be presenting to the Executive Board once per quarter. But most of the time I will be in a start-up environment wearing what I deem very casual wear, slacks with a button down or polo shirt & sneakers. I'll be riding a bike to work for goodness sakes. That being said, I WANT BOTH! I'm thinking the EXII I can wear hiking, mountain biking, and use as a daily wear. I'm rough on watches so almost think the EXII might serve a better purpose as bad as that sounds. And you're spot on because I definitely am leaning more under the radar. I want the GMT in the board room yet the EXII as a daily.

BUT, the modern EXII's are in the $5500-$6k range and for not much more I can get the LN. That's what's making this decision tough because as you say the GMT II LN has more overall versatility.

This keeps getting harder 🤦🏽*♂️

Both are good advice. I like the 16700 because of the rapid set date. I don't need more than two time zones so both the 16700 and ExpII work well for me.

A gently-used 116710LN would be perfect for you if you don't want to swap bezels and are not put off by PCL's. It should be a nice watch that you can wear worry-free for a few years.

GMT Question from a Noob

Went with a 2015 LN that I received today. Purchased on eBay at an under market price based on Year & overall condition. Bracelet needs a polish but that's it. Question on the warranty card. Seller mentioned all original paperwork but it only came with card & sleeve / service manual/GMT II manual / inner & outer box. Mainly missing AD receipt. Guy was "in military and purchased in Middle East". Neither manual has English but warranty card does which seems off. I blurred serial on watch photo FYI. Anything look funky to you guys? Is heading to local AD my next step? Everything looks / feels authentic as this isn't my first but I'm still paranoid. Thanks

I would think that you could pick up a good GMT in that price range. I have the 16710 Pepsi and the 116710LN. I genuinely prefer the LN to the Batman. Its classy, a little more subdued and I love the green GMT hand. You can't go wrong with that watch - and if you travel abroad a lot its by far the most useful complication. If you only have one Rolex in your life a GMT is the best one to have in my view. Good luck.

I don't think the BLNR commands a $3K premium over the LN, but if you don't like it, it doesn't really matter, does it?

I bought mine used, and I could sell it today for what I paid for it, if not a little more. Hard to beat that.

Of course, I love it, and I'm not selling...

GMT Question from a Noob

Your warranty card looks good. It's a newer-style warranty card that came out in 2013. My understanding is that the US AD warranty cards will show the bracelet model number and dial description on the front, while non-US versions will not.

I'd take it to an AD for authentication and peace of mind. Overall, it looks like a beautiful watch and a nice set. Congrats and well-done!
