You're sounding like a broken record, sport. Drop it already before I put you down as a troll.

Do I have to flip my sub for a daytona?
"But, run of the mill 16610 subs aren't actually rare or anything. If she's got the bucks, she could just throw it away at the end of the year and buy a new one."

I like to see women wear men's watches but I don't like to see watches subject to undue abuse. Then again, it's her money and she should be free to do with it as she pleases. The reason I say this is that I have a male friend who works with heavy machinery and subects his steel Submariner to massive daily abuse, certainly much more than the average user. His repair/servicing bill every 3-4 of years exceeds $1,000 but he doesn't mind at all because he likes to have a nice watch while working. So who am I to tell him otherwise?

I get what you're say'n, Dan - and I agree. To each, his own. But, sometimes you just have to shake your head...

Okay, I certainly can't feel sorry for an inanimate object, but...a colleague was wearing a DateJust that had an absolutely filthy, grimy bracelet. The watch was probably 20 years old and had brown and black filth between all of the bracelet links. Yuck! I have no idea how someone could treat a nice watch like that.
It also really, really bugs me when people don't take out the extra links on their watch bracelets, and the watch flops back and forth, underneath, and up and down the arm. Just go to a jewelry store in the mall, already! |

Well im pretty much sure she will not do that to her Louis Vuitton Handbag if she has one...Some woman thinks a watch is just a watch...some dont...but if your talking about handbags and shoes and make up..im pretty much sure they would kill somebody over it...

Well said. I'm tired of people bashing the YMII - it's a watch with a different look, I'll grant you, but one that the buying public can either take or leave. If I had the money to spare, I would surely buy one because I think it's a handsome watch but even if I didn't like the look, I wouldn't rubbish it because no matter what, people's tastes will always differ and I respect that.

I have no problem with a woman wearing a man's watch, and I have no problem with someone getting the most utility out of his (or her) watch by getting it dirty from time to time. What bothers me is seeing someone deliberately abusing a good watch -- it's so vulgar and ostentatious.
Cheers, Chris
