I actually tried on the DJs. The 36 is much to small for my wrist, and the 41 I just didn't really fall for. The Polar is nice as well, but I'm not sure how I feel about the current 42mm size. I like the 16570 as well, but the red GMT hand just isn't my thing.

It's a bit of a story, but they're personal for me. Ideally I'll be celebrating my entrance to MBA school (I know most people celebrate graduation, but this would be coming a long way for me), an upcoming promotion at work (my first ever), and my 25th birthday.

My budget is somewhere in the $7500-8000 range maximum if that helps. I could theoretically go for more, but ultimately the watch isn't my only priority.

Do you have any pics of them together? I'd love to see them as a pair!

I'm typically a no-date person myself, but I find the SD to be cool because of it's rarity and the fact that it's a little different from a normal Sub. It's a minor difference, but I like minute details.
This.
I buy the most expensive one I could afford.

Congratulations on your acceptance and promotion. Now, I am going to suggest spending the next 1-2 years determining what you grail watch is and getting that on graduation. Enablers are going to hate that:-)

Haha great, just what I needed. I'm still waiting on the acceptance right now (I'm very hopeful), but the promotion is much more of a done deal.

Right now for grails I'm eyeing the WG Daytona with grey dial on oysterflex or a white Patek 5711. This is subject to (constant) change.

I've tried both the Milgauss and the SubC and liked both a lot. I'd actually love to have both, but that's just not feasible anytime soon (and there's other watches I want to own too). I just want to make sure I make the "right" choice for me when I pick one.

Haha I wish! It's on my short list for watches I'd own if I hit the jackpot lol

From reading your post it seems like the SD is your pick, but for the price. If it is a milestone like you write, then get your milestone watch. You may spend more, but you are going to be more satisfied in the end.

Milestone watch = 114060, I do like the SD4K but am not into paying a premium.

Once I got my SubC, I never wore my explorer anymore. I just sold it last week.

A subC with like a GS Snowflake or JLC MUT Moon would make a VERY nice duo...

get a colored sub, blue TT/YG or green. the black is a bit boring i think. The hulk is perfect as it has the brushed links and all stainless, which is why its so hot. Sunburst + ceramic = wow.

Sounds like you want the SD4K. I would go for the 104060 if it was me.

Sd4000. I had it but wore small on 8” wrists. Fabulous watch though. If it fits go for it. It’s a tank and has the date without the cyclops. Not going to see that combo unless you go deep-sea. If it works for u, I think a different piece is right for a milestone.

I do love the SD4K, but the main issue is going to be price, especially since they would all be used at this point. On the other hand, for a few thousand less I could get a brand new Sub/Milgauss.

I do like the idea of the watch being something a little different than a Sub, but I'm curious how many people feel the SD4K is really worth an extra $3000 over a Sub ND. Anybody have experience with both?
