Anything popular that is discontinued is always going to have price pressure upwards, and as the Coke C is not much of a direct competitor and will be trickled out, I doubt prices will fall, maybe flatten out.

Pepsi, not Coke, is driving 16710 prices. A stainless Pepsi, if and only if Rollie gets the bezel colors right (which they absolutely did not on the WG), should slow down the price explosion.

I do. I think 16710 prices get frozen for a while. maybe retreat to 5-6k until 5 digit is truly vintage.

1) the 6 digit ln had green not red
1a) we may see a red ln too
2) it looks like a return of jub possible oyster option as well
2a) bracelets are nicer than 5 digit
3) I think they can get a red/black combo done well in ceramic
4) new movement
5) possible glidelock
6) possible new case
7) less likely bezel lume or bezel command
8) the prices between new and 5 digit are almost negligible from trusted sellers.

There are hundreds of thousands of 16710’s out there. The market for them is very overrated and overvalued. It isn’t a rare or scarce watch. Especially compared to the BLNR which has only been in production for 5 years or so. A new GMT with a new movement absolutely will devalue the ‘old’ 116710 which in itself is not a ‘rare’ or ‘scarce’ watch. These are mass produced Rolex watches. Rolex is not AP or Patek.

True, but if none of these hundreds of thousands are available for sale, price will continue to rise. I think most have fallen into the hands of people who want them and will not part with them in the near future.

A quick check on chrono24 (by no means scientific) showed 468 Ref. 16710 for sale. Say 100,000 were produced, that means only .005% for those 100,000 are for sale. High demand, low supply for sale. It's the for sale numbers (market availability) that matter, not the production numbers.

There are likely more for sale at jewelry stores all across the country than on chrono24 and eBay combined. Very few people are WIS or watch collectors. We are the minority by far. It isn’t hard to source a 16710 locally here in Atlanta. I don’t even have to get in the Internet to do that. A SS coke or Pepsi ceramic is also going to cut into that demand IF that happens. We may or may not get that next week. Who knows? The 16710 like the 16610 was produced in staggering numbers. Not rare. Not scarce.

16710 will keep on rising analogously to Rolex prices. Then one may add to this that the more well preserved and complete/unpolished a 16710 the higher the price.

Hi Yannis,
Yes, thanks, I get exactly what we are all anticipating.
How could I not?
My query, (slightly, tongue in cheek) ......"Coke C?" Was just questioning AK797's statement that,"the coke C is not much of a direct competitor and will be trickled out".

Apologies, being a tad pedantic I suppose.
