This is the current family picture, after using Daytona for some weeks I am a bit concerned about its legibility but it is still in the family:

My opinion of the family:
Most comfortable: DJ36 Most legible: Exp Best widget: Daytona Nicest: Daytona & DJ tie Blingest: DJ36 Safety feeling in not nice places: Exp Exclusivity feeling: Daytona Biggest smile in my face: DJ in an odd date with date in red. If had to keep only as my only watch forever: Exp If I would not get used to the Daytona legibility, my first idea is to flip Daytona+DJ36 for a WG DD36, but I will persevere because Daytona is really nice... |

Beautiful watch. I love that roulette, and I hope the new movement 36’s keep that. I am strangely not a fan of the hidden claps, so waiting for the next SS 36’s to come out without it.

My DJ36 after one month
Just to update the thread, one year after my first Rolex purchase after receiving a nice tax refund I am waiting to receive a DD40 WG silver dial like this:
![]() I think that I will not use much the DJ36 once I receive the new one and I have considered to sell the DJ36, but the dealer made me an offer that I can not accept and in the country where I live there is not a good secondary market, therefore I will keep it and I will reconsider it in the future. |

I think the DJ36 w/fluted bezel and white stick dial on the Jubilee and the Exp I are perfect companions. Both are elegant but the Explorer is cleaner and refined and the DJ is a bit busier but in a beautiful way. I decided on both together as a wonderful set of watches to rotate. Thank you for your review. I, too, hurried my order for the non 2019 DJ36 due to the hidden clasp on the Jubilee.
If you are not absolutely in love with the Daytona, it would be easy to sell (likely here in the classifieds) and right now is likely at as high a price as you will ever see for a SS watch. In fact you likely would come close to funding the WG DD 40 with the sale. Selling the DJ 36 also could be done here. |

Great watch! I love the roulette date! I agree on the new bracelets. I'm going to stick with the 3135 just for the hidden clasp.

I’ve bought DJ 36 on jubilee with fluted bezel last year. I’ve been in a tough decision between white dial and blue dial and ended up buying blue one. I also have 7.5 inch wrist, but enjoy the watch a lot

Nice review and nice step. I am also in the process of purchasing a DJ with the crown clasp. Happy to read it fits great. Also very nice DD, maybe one day that will be my second one. Why did you choose whitegold over regular gold. In my head a DD is always solid yellow gold.

That my friend is a quintessential DJ: 36, fluted, Super Jubilee and lumed indices.
Now, for your next Rolex... Cheers |

Great combo, as much as I initially thought the 36 was too small I can’t get over how easy it is to wear. Love that spec, the white dial with SS has just enough presence without being overpowering.

Collection update, I have to admit that due to not wearing the DJ36 after purchasing the DD40 it might be a candidate to be replaced if I fancy to find a proper substitute, that is not currently the case and I am not looking actively for it.

Can't go wrong with a 36 DJ, especially with a roulette DW

Congrats! Great choice indeed! I have been up in the air about this model or the newer silver dial. Since my wrists are smaller than a 16 yr old girls, I have opted for the newer model with a slightly smaller case. I hope you wear in good health!

A very nice collection. I recently added an OP DJ 36 Turn-O-Graph with WG bezel to my collection as I needed something a little more formal than my GMT for some occasions. It looks a lot like your DJ 36. The crisp white dial and the red date wheel/seconds hand add a little color.
