Lets be real...the current world economic conditions is going to make any Rolex model relatively easy to get now as compared to say 1-2 years ago. Sad, but true IMO. |

Wow, thanks for all the input.
I am not sure it is helping though. One of your threads advises that the joy of watches is changing and I think this is where I am at, I have had the Daytona for a while and think I need a change. I'll let you know what I decide tomorrow! Thanks again. |

Thanks for all the input.
I am keeping the Daytona. It is now being treated to a polish at the dealers. Hopefully I will pick up a Deepsea next year less than list! |

Sounds like the right thing to do for you...I have a feeling if you sold you would soon come to regret it. Add the DS later & you'll have two sweet watches in the stable!

X 2 This is IMHO of course, you get and wear what you like best, but I tried on the Deep Sea for the first time today and it was just NOT something I'd wear. It was absolutely huge, to the point of being Gaudy. It is a beautiful watch, but I just think it way to big to be a wearable-comfortable watch. |

I'm in the boat to get a SDDS, but I'm waiting till at least April when Basel 2009 happens and Rolex reveals it's new Submariner.
When this happens, the SDDS will all but be forgotten as everyone will be trying to get the new model Sub. I say wait 4 more months on getting the SDDS. It will be common. The Daytona will still be sought after. |

keep the daytona sir
I've been doing some calculation with the exchange rate comparing the price of what it cost approx in thailand 2nd hand market. if I have a daytona around your year I would get around 6,000 GBP. or a bit lower depends on the watch condition and (box and papers) the problem is when you sell it to the grey market buyer you wont get the real price. this is the calculation of what the market is like in thailand I dont know if it's similar to other parts of the world. |

Also, its worth mentioning that if you keep your Daytona in good condition and wait 40 years that watch is going to be worth a fortune. Think about how rare and sought after the watch is today, its a contemporary classic. The SS Daytona's we are buying today are 100% going to become classic watches highly sought by future collectors.

Obviously that's very subjective. I've been wearing the DSSD for over a month now without taking it off...it is extremely comfortable and very wearable. Makes my 41.5mm Omega SMP Chrono feel uncomfortable.
