Get an estimate for the repairs and if it is only a crystal and service I would pay out of pocket. If it is all of that and parts and a new dial I would make an insurance claim depending on the deductible.

Sorry for you, same thing happened to my 16610 on january:

Sent it to Rikki for spa treatment and came back looking like new:

so no need to sell it unless doesn’t sings to you anymore. The sapphire cost is about $200 but your watchmen may recomend to service it along. In my case was due for servicing anyway, ended up paying like $750 total

Quick update.

The inhouse watchmaker said he could fix it without sending it to RSC. With just the crystal it'll only be 200. So not too bad.

Good news is that they were able to get a batman for me. Paid for it and its already on its way from corporate. So as unfortunate as this was some good did come out of it.

Same thing happened to my 16800 a number of years ago. My AD sent it to RSC Dallas. They sent it back to me minus the t<25 dial. The replaced it and the hands with a service supernova much to my dismay. When I asked for my tritium dial and hands back they refused. Be very careful where you send it and what they will and won’t do.

A friend of mine had the crystal on his SD4K replaced and it was in the neighborhood of $300.

You can get the crystal replaced for cheap, however with that impact and given that you said there were crystal pieces on the dial you need a complete service and a new crystal. Possibly even a new dial depending if there was any damage.

Just replacing the crystal is not that difficult. But the movement needs to be cleaned to be sure there are no small particles of sapphire in there. Sapphire is very hard and can grind against the movement. Cleaning the movement may not be within the AD's capabilities. That may be why they said only the crystal needs replacing.

Pretty easy pickup on that BLNR. Congrats.

Have you tried Cape Cod Cloth? One other possibility, cut a thin slice of cucumber like 1mm and apply for 3 hours.

Don't worry, it's easily fixable. Hang in there brudda,
