Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm brand new to the forum and to the Rolex club. Bought myself a SS Datejust 41 in Rhodium with Jubilee in Italy at an AD. Was watching some YouTube videos and got worried when I noticed my 6o'clock had the Crown instead of 30 between Swiss Made in almost all the videos.

Does that jsut mean my watch is newer / with new movements?

Thanks in advance.

I think the crown does not indicate the new movement. Before 2018 no any Rolex watches had the crown regardless of type of movement. I have a DJ41 without the crown, although it has the new movement. So, in my opinion Rolex has simply changed a dial design for some models since 2018.

Fully agree, too cheesy, I prefer the simple swiss made

Whether they will keep this in the future remains to be seen. I would say yes. Doesn’t make sense to introduce this only to kill it in a couple of years. Personally I’m not a huge fan but I don’t like change. I’m sure many hated the engraved rehaut and came to embrace it.

As for prices, impact will be zilch. What makes different dials disirable are different fonts, the way the text is lined up and how many lines of text a dial has all other things being equal. A coronet between Swiss Made that will be on hundreds of thousands of watches eventually doesn’t meet that criteria.
Just to clarify as this was a older thread:
The BLNR does have the new movement and coronet. The discontinued BLNR model doesn’t.

You can see the coronet at the bottom.
