I didn’t know he was that. Aren’t you insulting women and being offensive to them by using that very derogatory word?

I was just looking through his videos and came across his “10 Reasons Why You Should Own A Luxury Watch” video and oh boy what a gem!

#1 - “It creates opportunity” and the example given was having car trouble in Beverly Hills and he said that people would be more likely to let you borrow their phone if you were wearing a luxury watch

#2- “Women like them” he says there is a small percentage of women who don’t care about watches but most do and they like men who wear them.

I think he actually believes people notice and care about the watch on some other persons wrist. Sure I guess some do but the vast majority couldn’t care less.

Now that I think about it maybe the video was a joke...

I looked into his videos trying to find reasons to like them but he lost all credibility quickly.

Nah, he’s insulting a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons. Not saying it’s right, but that’s what he was insulting.

Wait, you're saying that calling Eric a douche is an insult to douches?

Most sophisticated females notice high end watches. That's not anything new or even debatable.

No, I got your point. I don't know why a name used for a feminine hygiene product is now used as an insult for people who exude a certain persona, but it is; I didn't start that usage. Moreover, I see the term predominantly used in reference to men, and often used by women to describe men. So I'm at a loss to understand why you think the term is generally offensive to women, or why I was directly offending women by using it. That certainly was not my intention; nor do I imagine it was the intention of others in this thread who used the same word to describe Eric.

I was kidding. I was trying to add a different type of levity. Obviously didn’t work. It’s all good

I never saw the guy before this video. With no preconception, and setting aside his mannerisms and appearance, I really questioned his knowledge of this watch when he said, "All they kinda did was give it a paint job, pretty much, you know? Same car, different color." Considering the three new GMT models this year have the new 3285 movement, at the very least the car got a paint job and a new engine.

I think it's probably pretty debatable. What exactly constitutes a "sophisticated female" probably is too.

Also is referring to women as "females" a new trend or am I crazy? Maybe I'm just noticing it more because it bugs me.

He's still only talking about speculation. I've been in "the watch industry," whatever that is, longer than he's been alive. That doesn't mean every post I make should be taken without question. We all make mistakes. Calling this a review when it's no more than a discussion about speculation is in my opinion a mistake. Get the watch in-hand and review it, then we can call it a review.

Owning many of one thing doesn't make one an expert. I'm not arguing anyone's expertise but I know enough not to base it solely on the size of their collection. One of my neighbors easily has $200k wrapped up in modern Rolex models and can't tell you the reference number of any of them. He's quite an enthusiast, just not an expert. Using a collection size to determine one's level of knowledge isn't wise.

I have no dog in the hunt here but stand by my original opinions posted earlier.

I’m not sure if you watched the video but he did have one in hand. Also I watched it three times in a row and I didn’t see where he used that terrible word brought up earlier. He did use the word classy incorrectly. Oh well. I liked his review and I disagree with his assessment. Pink gold is not for me. :-)

I watched it before I originally posted. He had what looked like it might have been a two-tone CHNR in the video but discussed the full rose gold by speculating about its price. He didn't show either model on his wrist, which is odd if he had one available. I didn't find anything worthy of calling this a review by my standards of discussing features, appearance, weight, updates from previous models, movement, etc. It was simply about how RG looked "more classier" and that the "value" was currently $45k. Again, that's not a review in my book. I still stand by this opinion.

He is catering to a different market segment, Eric is cool. He made some stupid remarks when he started but has cleaned up

Copper is a major component in the formula and why it's red. It should look like copper.

It looks like oxygen-free copper to me... wires, heat sinks, superconductors, cryo tubes, etc. Whether or not I like the look on a watch has yet to be seen.

Even 18K yellow-gold alloy typically contains copper (about 12.5-15%). It's not just rose-gold alloy.

Copper is in some white gold alloys as well but that's not what I was joking about with Fleetlord.

MSRP is $36500. Stores still give discounts on all gold watches. Actual prices is likely to be down at $30K. Wait a couple of months, lose the bragging rights but save 33% over the current feculatory price.
