I only posted this for those who didn't know about it, who also are interested in following the length of sale.
It's not necessarily newsworthy, rather just a sidebar for those interested in watching market forces at work. It's not the end of the world. |

Does anyone have any ideas/thoughts/theories on when the market will turn / bubble burst? Genuinely wondering, as someone relatively new to the watch game. Is this mostly dependant on the strength of the global economy?

I have my limits on what I will spend.
One of those limits is an absolute dollar limit. The other is MSRP. I may lust after watches that are above the former limit, but for watches being sold above the second limit, they might as well not exist, but I can get a genuine chuckle over them. I don't even envy those who have the discretionary funds to pay those exorbitant prices. It's a free market after all.

Do all those members who say (or should I say shout) DSW is the king of the trusted sellers still think he is the man to go to buy your watches?

Good question.. For me, nowadays, only if I can get a deal on the watch I am looking for. Otherwise, no, I will not buy at a premium.

I've done business several times with David making purchases well below MSRP so have no complaints. Granted, the watches I bought were not the hot ticket items the Pepsi GMT currently is. Regardless, IMO his customer service sets the standard. As a businessman he has the right to set a price the market will bear. It's up to each of us as buyers to decide our willingness to pay.

I do not think he is wrong to price his inventory at whatever price he sees fit. These are just luxury items... Wants not needs; different story if it involved say a cure for cancer/AIDS

The only thing is that I will not sell the only Rolex I have because I think it will be impossible for me to have one again and it is the only brand that interests me.
It is outrageous that a third party earns more than the same factory selling its product. |

I can wait my turn at the AD and pay first hand msrp for the item in question. When I want something like an Explorer or precious metal item, David would suit my needs. We are fortunate Rolex controls ADs with their prices, you cannot pay over msrp at an AD. Car manufacturers do nothing when dealers mark up new cars like the Civic Type R, 911R, GT350, or even Golf Rs.... |

I'm glad I wouldn't have to pay premium or wait long for anything if I were in the market for a new ss model. Those prices are insane...

If you want Rolex catalogs of all the SS watches you can't have go to the ADs but if you want really want a Rolex and not a VVIP at the local AD but have the money, he's the guy.

What happens to pricing when tariffs take effect..maybe add another 25% to that..

$38,975 for the full gold CHNR?
A local dealer has one sitting in the case right now. If anyone is interested, it is C.D Peacock in Old Orchard near Chicago. If I remember correctly, the sales lady said it is about $36,000 |

I like David. I actually bought my 16710 Coke from him.
But those prices are beyond excessive, past unreasonable, and border on unconscionable. |

Platinum pieces more expensive than gold.
Gold's around £1300 and Platinum £800.....per ounce. Doesn't make much sense, does it. .....Stainless steel's about £750.......per tonne. Stand back for a lecture in economics! |
