I think the SD 43 looks perfect. As already mentioned by others, something 42 to 44 might be the sweet spot. The BLRO might work if you wore it higher on your wrist behind the wrist bone. Good luck.

8" wrist and the Explorer is perfect on me. I think some people feel that a watch should be as large as his/her wrist.

Joking aside; I think it is more aesthetically acceptable to go "too big" than "too small" especially nowadays(Thanks Expendables). Pretty much if the lugs don't dangle over your wrists it isn't too big.
yes, it looks like a dive computer
Thanks for the comments though

8.25” with the SD43. Had a 16610LV for years and it always felt too small.

Don’t do it!

Get the DSSD or go with an Omega 45.5mm Planet Ocean.

I’m a big guy (smaller than what you say you are) I own the SD43 and the DSSD. I would be too self conscious wearing a GMT at 40mm.

I don’t think it matters what the watch looks like on his wrist in the dark.

I think 40 mm work fine. I have 8 inch wrists and find that they work well.

The SD43 looked perfect. The Exp II 42mm would also look great. The GMTII was a bit too small.

SD43 looks better on your wrist versus the BLNR, but you can pull the BLNR as well

Which one is getting more wrist time? I am really hoping I don't come across a DSSD sitting in a case...

So plan update:
I am on a few lists for the BLNR so I will probably end up getting it when it comes up regardless if I decide it is too small or not, figured it'd be a good trading token.

Will be on lookout for EXP II Polar(I have never see one in a case before). I liked the 16570 proportions(DAMN YOU 40MM CASE AND YOUR SEXINESS) and the red GMT hand, not quite so hot on the Orange hand/text on the 216570. We'll see how it looks IRL.

In the mean time should just enjoy my SD43 and stop looking other watches... (like that'll ever happen..)

Thanks everyone for their pictures! Continue posting! May help the next big guy with body image wrissues(wrist + issues, GET IT?! Hahaha..... I am a child...)

For 8 inch or larger wrist, hard to beat that D Blue Cameron for appropriate size.
If you have 60K or so, that AP ROO "Brick" is also a big wrist piece! Apparently it makes the Platona feel like a lightweight.

No one is going to come up to a big guy and make fun of him wearing a smallish looking watch.

Wear whatever you want.

Stick to your SD43 and be happy, the 40mm will look/feel small on you.

6’6” here with 7.7” wrist. The 40mm is the smallest I would wear. Used to think it’s too small!
That’s why the deep blue is my favorite watch!

It is all personal preference, fit and feel. I have three Panerai's and they are all 47 mm and work great. The strap game is strong depending on how you want to embrace it and it completely changes up the look of the watches. I own two 41 mm Rolex watches, a DD II and DJ II and wear them is dresser situations and the 42 mm Polar Explorer II. They are nice but on the small end of my current tastes. I just moved my SD43 as it was not getting any wrist time and picked up two IWC watches at 45 mm and 46 mm. I could not be more pleased. Go try a 1389 or other Panerai diver at 47 mm and see if it works as well for you as it does for me.
Those are the 3 perfect Panerai. Perfect.

40mm is the max I will go. I've tried 41-44, and they just don't feel right

With my 7 3/4” wrists, I see 40mm as my minimum size watch. Here’s my 16710.
