I’ve thought about it many times. I’ve owned most every SS pro model Rolex makes, some, more than once. Now branching out, AP, and wishing for a Patek (oh to be 2012 again) But since the 5711 is commanding stupid money now, and no matter how hard I try to live with just one, I don’t.
Not sure I will ever get there.

I've considered it many times as well. Finding the one isn't easy. Two are easy. But, if I find that one then it'll be only one.

I have definitely thought about that to get a 4 digit Daytona, but it’s not a versatile or durable enough to be a daily.

I could easily have just my black 42mm Explorer II. I've had loads of different models multiple times, but NOTHING takes wrist time from my Explorer II. Nothing's been close. I've seriously considered just adding the polar Explorer II and being done with it.
Problem is, the longer you hang around here the harder it is to stop buying watches! |

I don’t have to liquidate my collection to get to only 1 Rolex. I enjoy my 4 digit birth year TT DJ daily...

one would be impossible for me. 3 maybe. they would be:
1. vintage DRSD or sub 2. 5402 or 15202 3. 5711 i currently only own the sub and 15202. not counting my wedding watch (explorer ii) here. Last edited by watchthisway; 26 August 2018 at 05:29 PM.. Reason: fix typo |

I have one watch and happy with it. But can imagine to sell off multiple watches for that one killer watch that beats all others. That watch would probably be a DD with Dutch date disc, AP royal oak or a PP Calatrava.
But since I do not own multiple watchs, I will reach that end goal by selling off my only watch and just adding money! I love the one watch game!

I'm in the one watch man with my seri sub. I'm very happy with it rugged but looks good in a suit .One very big draw back the hour markers are not lumed . I'll take it, the diamonds and the saphfires are never boring to look at. I could afford more watches, but i'm very safisified with my collection !

Ever just want to sell them all and just roll with one?
Yes and I did. I went from these To this one But then I added this one also, 3 weeks ago So now I have two. The reason why I sold the others was because they never got any wrist time. I forget to change watch, I use it 24/7 and almost forgets it is even there. So I can wear it for 6 months or so straight. Because of that I only felt bad never using the others and felt pressured to change watch to give them some wrist time. So I figured it was better selling them all. Did not regret it, however now I have two that I love and will change between them wean ever I feel like it, no pressure

Nope. Picking my favourite watch is like picking a favourite child - an impossible choice.
But...for the benefit of this discussion, if I HAD to pick just the one, it would probably be the SeaDweller 4K. Probably. |

Thinking of slimming down to 2 lately myself, I rarely wear my SubC.

No, three would be my minimum but whenever I have gotten down to 4 I rather then go up to 5 and 6.

No, I would keep two. One would be too difficult to choose.
1. Datejust from my birth year 2. GMT II Coke |

The idea of just owning one has been on my card for a while now ... at the moment, its the OP39 that will stay and everything else will go.

I think one watch could be done but for what reason I would ask myself. It is my hobby and I enjoy ownership and options. If I was to do a one and only I would go with the SD43.

What I feel right now is at some point I will thin out my stable down to one watch. When that time comes I hope to have the courage to let them go and wisdom to choose the one to keep.

I am struggling with this thought at the moment actually. I love all my watches, but part of me would love to experience the simplicity of just having that one "lifetime companion" watch.
But my fear is that the romanticism of having that one watch for life would soon wear off and then I would buy my collection back all over again. Ugh. So I will likely keep what I have for now and simply enjoy. However, if I had to pick just one it would likely be this.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Always thought about being an one Rolex person. Finally did it. Sold DSSD D-Blue, Sub ND, ExpII Polar and DJII all within a month.
Keeping the SD4K as my only Rolex. Bought the 16660 as my first Rolex 25 years ago. Happy to acquire the 116600 recently and it is going to stay with me for a while. |

Not at all.
Minimum number would be two, should one be sent for service. |

Started with the 5513 in 1988 and have been adding since... 16700 in the picture is from last week As much as I would like to have only one, it's just not happening for me
