My husband gave me my YM when I was 32, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It was a gift, but with my approval of the watch, in my presence. If we couldn't have afforded it I would have nixed it.

My husband received a Sub from his father last year for his 39th birthday.

I'm new to this site but don't own a Rolex - yet. I've recently bought a Tag Heuer Link Calibre S / Black dial which I'm enjoying wearing at the moment.

I aim to buy my first Rolex - a SS Sub Date - SS Sub Date LV or the new model SS Sub Date (which ever looks the best on my wrist) on my actual birthday when I reach the big 50 in 2010. I think it'll be a nice touch to have my birth date on the paper work. Also, a good reason for the watch to remain in my family for many years after I'm long gone!!

Of course, due to the present financial climate, if one of the above was offered for sale at a price that couldn't be refused, i may buy it early! But my plan is to wait until my birthday.

I'm 18 and I have an SS sub that was inherited. I plan to buy my first own rolex or PAM when I'm perhaps ~25 with a secure job... if i meet those conditions :-P. I will probably save up and get an 18k DD :-D

Bought my first one just last week, aged 32. I waited until I'd paid off my mortgage first!
