Laughed at sellers trying to move WG BLRO GMTs. Complete waste of money, I thought.
But got a wild hair and picked one up. Sold my SS BLNR soon after. Then picked up a WG Sub. Same thing - sold my SS Sub right away. "If you get the gold, the stainless steel will be sold", said my grandfather never. |

Agreed, the dial colors are the main attraction, but for me I would never have a precious metal sport watch. I actually use my sport models in most activities and the added weight flopping around does not add to the comfort and the precious metal offers no functional advantage.

I love the look of WG but hate the price ;) If I could rationalize it, I would wear it every day. Plus, I like being under the radar.

The current offerings don't excite me, but I won't rule out a future acquisition. WG - Just because.

Why would someone buy a white gold sport watch?

Could not have said it better. WG is just for me. No one else knows or cares in my circles. I like WG and don’t wear YG. (No Bentley or Ferrari, here....)🤪

I do not want to upset you guys, but I would prefer the YG with blue Basel and black dial... Too much blue in my opinion. But I love the WG Daytona... with the deep blue dial.

WG is popular with men the Middle East because Muslim men are not supposed to wear yellow gold as it’s too showy. This is a religious reason.
They buy a lot of Rolexes in the ME, and PM is the most popular. Some of our Muslim brethren may chime in here.

I buy a watch because I like it.....same goes for white gold. I don't resonate with yellow gold nor rose (coming around on rose on some other brands, but certainly not Rolex's rose gold)....so when there's a hot model in white gold, I am interested just like a nice model in SS.
Also, attracting attention to my wrist is the last thing on my mind wearing watches...but if someone happens to notice my watch and knows enough to understand it's a PM Rolex (unique dial/slightly different tone of WG vs SS), I can certainly appreciate a fellow WIS with respect. |

I would love an Audi RS6, the very same one that used the same engines found in Lamborghinis , why, because while you're looking all smug pulling unto the autobahn in your 911 I suddenly pull up beside you and wave hello as I blow by all the while with camping gear in the back. I think white gold and platinum are a higher measure of luxury because it's understated and if you're in "the know" you see one and say oh cool. Was in a restaurant one day and a guy walked in with an 116619LB and a coworker says, did you see that guy's Sub, pretty cool color...I said yeah it's more than cool, it's a $30k watch, it's white gold, oohs and ahhhhs ensued. Sometimes I don't understand all the lack of understanding around here. What's to understand....seems people are only interested in what's popular and new, what to invest in or what has a MKx dial, or what will end production. Is it that hard to accept that maybe someone buys something because they "like it", what a strange concept this is nowadays. |

I tried one on at my local AD and loved the feel of it. I own a SS sub and it feels like a toy on the wrist compared to the smurf.
Plus, the smudgy and scratchy look of white gold over time looks awesome. Honestly, if I had the money I would buy one. Tough man's watch. Sent from my HTC 2PXH3 using Tapatalk |

I think both white gold and Platinum looks amazing. Hard to tell SS and WG apart from a distance, at least for me. However close up it is easy to tell them apart. If I where ever to buy a precious metal Rolex it would be white gold or Platinum.

As I understand it gold is a lot softer than steel. Doesn’t it age and scratch dent a lot faster
