I do not have any PM Rolex, just a few SS sport professional watches. This will be my first and only gold watch. I also agree the WG blue dial sing to me the most, I tried it on and couldn’t get it out of my head. Second to WG prolly rose-gold with green dial, I don’t want to make the same mistakes of buying and selling at a lost like previous. This time the lost might be a lot bigger hence I want to make sure. Thanks all

My vote is for YG. With a white or silver dial for contrast. Members here seem to like WG for it's under the radar effect, but who buys a Day Date and worries about attention? You buy the watch for yourself and gold in it's natural color is yellow.

I'd definitely go WG. To me the dial choice would be the hardest pick, today I like the silver tapestry with sticks although the decon. romans add a lot of character.

White gold black dial is one of my grail watches that I hope to obtain one day.

Fluted is blingy, but iconic. Some could say old fashioned is the YG Fluted

The Platinum With light blue exclusive dials and smooth bezel is totally modern and Hard Hitting. Never liked the smooth, but if you want the Glacier Blue dial...

Plus the smooth is growing on me and it’s really a more sporty DD with the lime batons

I like the DD the best in White Gold and the Platinum, I think they are both stunning watches and more understated than the Y/G models. I don't own a precious metal Rolex, and I don't know that I ever will but if I do, it will be white metal. When traveling and even around town I appreciate a watch that goes unnoticed when you want it to be.

Old school here.
YG

Saving up for it too.
Vacations, travels and wines are delaying it.

I prefer white gold for its understated nature and availability with a fluted bezel. White gold does not look like stainless in a side by side comparison however it does complement
a primarily stainless collection.

After you see the difference, you cant unsee it
I agree with his statement, WG, doesn’t look like SS, it does have a unique Hue and presence, only captured by a PM

I own a RG(sundust Roman dial), there are times when I catch myself looking at a YG DD.

I’d like a YG, either silver or champagne romans. I did see the RG olive recently and it was really a head turner. I do worry about the long term appeal of RG.

Can’t afford plat, not really interested in WG

Surprised at all the WG replies. My choice would be YG since that's what I associate the DD with.

RG with olive dial is beautiful. I have always had my doubts about RG passing the test of time until I decided it really didn’t matter as long as I was happy with the watch.
I’m setting my sites on RG/green dial.

Yellow Gold for me. Classic Daydate.

My vote would be YG. YG has a regal feel to it that the other golds do not. Just my opinion

Yellow gold with white dial for me.

I tried on the platinum DD yesterday. Wow, people aren't kidding when they say that thing is heavy!
