I can’t see why they would release a Red sub as it would look almost identical to the Red writing Sea Dweller as its already got a cyclops

That would sell great on St. Paddy's Day as well as year round in Green Bay.

A navy blue SS Sub (no date) with a 41.5 case (not a super case).

Indeed!! My thoughts too. As much as I like to get excited about Baselworld, it's become an exercise in futility. VIPs, ADs friends & family and Greys rule the roost. I hope Rolex realizes what damage is being done. I'm starting to get a sparkle in my eyes for other brands like Omega. Oh well, I'll keep dreaming a bit longer before jumping ship. Cheers!

I'll throw in a prediction anyways of an Everose gold Submariner with an olive green dial. On the GMT front, the exit of the LN and/or BLNR and introduction of a SS Coke. The Explorer might get the Polar treatment. Cheers!

Not to the people who like its size and proportions, or the added technical specs. But that's beside the point. People saying there will be a red Sub is a case-in-point of how many people make predictions based on fantasy, rather than really thinking through the likelihood of what they're predicting. They see a red line on a Sea Dweller and knee-jerk assume Rolex will start doing it on every other diver, without taking the time to assess why that is almost certainly not going to happen.
The SD43 is a 50th anniversary model, and the red line serves to commemorate that, as well as throw a nod to the very first Sea Dweller. It has meaning within the context of that model, and is not just an aesthetic flourish. Of course, there have been red Subs in the past, but on the whole, red lines on black Rolex divers are exceedingly rare, and Rolex isn't the kind of company that wastes its heritage capital by overusing meaningful gestures. The Sub isn't coming up on any significant anniversary any time soon, so there is simply no reason for Rolex to use a red line on it, especially given the recency of its use on the SD. So yeah...ain't gonna happen. |

For me, this could definitely give an 116618LB a run for its money. The sunburst green dial with yellow gold is a stunningly amazing piece and I can't understand why it hasn't happened yet. I could see the rose gold happening too, but I wouldn't be as enthusiastic about it.

Beautiful. Not for me, but beautiful. TT in green would be nice too. Personally, I’d like to see a SS variant of the Bluesy. No doubt it would be as or more difficult to get than a hulk, BLNR and Daytona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love this! But with D-Blue in my collection I wouldn't be a buyer. It's hard to top a JC Deepsea but I can see how for some members with smaller wrists this would fit the bill nicely

Baselworld 2019
If they will issue Explorer II without any external changes but with a new movement, my bank account will suffer.

My prediction for 2019... lame. Rolex saves hype for 2020 when demand finally slows down.
The rest of the GMT line gets 3285 movement. BLNR stays and no Coke. The DJ31 update trickles down to SS & SS/18K, and additional dials offered. The rest of the DJ36 line gets the 2018 treatment, with additional dials offered. 18K Submariner and Hulk get 3235 movement, rest of line remains the same. 18K WG SkyDweller re-released with blue roman dial. |

My prediction is the Sub will follow the GMT, featuring a new movement in a case that is virtually indistinguishable from the current model, both in size and design. Since looks sell more than movements, the earliest upgrades will be in new color/material combos in order to generate enthusiasm - again following the GMT pattern this year - with upgrades to the standard colors coming in succeeding years. 75% chance this starts in 2019; 95% chance by 2020.
