Because they want to sell Datejusts not steel sports pieces.

I think then customers would buy the real watch and say it feels different it is too heavy etc. It could cause issues. It would not be long until some slipped out the back door and out on the market also from an unscrupulous dealer. Then what, a real case and a dummy movement. Too many issues I think
