Plus, I've never really been much of an advocate of the old saying, "If you're going to spend that much...I would get..." as I think if one can afford it & really wants it, then price shouldn't be a reason to go for one over the other. Buy what you love, you'll never be disappointed. |

I bought the DSSD because it looks luke a huge version of a classic sub. I like the look of the sub and SD but also like to wear larger watches. This was an easy choice for me. It does not wear large on the wrist. I find it quite comfortable. If you like large watches then I would not hesitate. As others have said each might be worth a lot more in years to come but I can't think of that now. My advice would be to get a DSSD if you can and trade the SD in for another classic model like a bluesy sub or colored GMT so you have something different to wear. If that isn't enough to push you over the edge then.......

The BP FF is a nice watch but being in that price point I would get the DSSD still. This isn't the best Rolex sports model, in my opinion, the DSSD is the best diver in the industry.

With the new Rolex line up, I don't think it's worth it to pay MSRP on an older Rolex when the new line up improved drastically. I would feel better about paying MSRP on a AK, GMTIIC, DJ and DSSD with improvements than an older model. I would probably look at preowned for the models that haven't gotten an improvement.

Dssd
The DSSD is an incredibly smart looking, feeling watch. It is the watch that was 'love at first sight' for me. I have taken 1 Link off the SS band and fits just right, not too tight and not too loose. Keep that in mind if you think it will be too big for the wrist. There is room for adjustment.
