Interesting, I was under the impression that 76100 only had lollipop hands.
I’ll post some pics when it lands tomorrow

Great tudors... they just feel so good on the wrist and are truly bulletproof. If you don’t like the folded 9315 - just get a 93150 and swap it.

Very nice watch, a bit more colorful than the rollie, and if I'm not mistaken it's got both a plexi and the quick date which is pretty much a perfect combination!

Sapphire.
75090 and 79090 according to my watchmaker’s official Rolex parts book, both have sapphire cyclops crystals.

Pretty sure the 79090 is plexi , but will happily stand corrected . The 79190 was the only Tudor sub I know of ,which has sapphire crystal .

Pulled the trigger on a Tudor Sub 79090 1992

I was looking for a blue 79090 and came across my 1992 79090 and it was like new, box papers etc. never polished etc. couldn’t pass it up for the $ I paid 3 years ago.

And you will learn to love that bracelet.

Congrats!!

Sorry to the OCD peeps for the bezel.

My 75090 came with sapphire, and my watchmaker was helping me try to establish if it was original as the dealer told me it was. I'll take a picture of the Rolex parts book when I visit my watchmaker again (later this week or next)

Sorry, I wanted to get an approximate market value (non-chrono24). OP has disclosed to me in private.

I believe both can be fitted. I've used polywatch on the 79090 of a relative (so couldn't have been sapphire) and here is a thread in which a tudor sheet mentions a plexi for that reference: https://www.rolexforums.com/showpost...7&postcount=15

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. Transitional models, maybe? This is the same parts book my watchmaker has (R20), but the layout was much more compressed. I'll verify!

You bought the one on the Omega forum? You lucky bastard. The blue is so cool. I am more than happy with my black, but I could see myself buying a blue sub later on.

Stunning!

Agree with tekno, if you don't mind sharing first few #s of the serial. We are on a little investigation of mercedes hands on 76100s.

EDIT: got to me first

Dates it to 1984. I wonder if the hands are service or original.

Nice, mine is 1329XX - everything I see puts it around 1984, but I see people claim 1985 too.

I am guessing they may not have flown off the shelves, and people go by the date stamped on warranty?

You are right. I am the lucky owner of a pretty mint 79190. Matte dial.
The very last of them came with applied indexes similar to Rolex subs

Tudor 76100 Subs start around 70k, no? From my research, your 1329xx (ooh, only 99 combos to nail down your exact serial) Sub is 1984.

Here's a thread that discusses as well:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showpost...48&postcount=1

1984 29xxx
1985 14xxxx

For Tudor Sub:

Model No. Approx S/N Range
7922,7924 ~ 24x,xxx to 29x,xxx (Possible as early as 140K)
7928,7928/0 ~ 30,xxx to 62x,xxx
7016/0 ~ 62x,xxx to 82x,xxx (Possible as early as 570K)
7021/0 ~ 73x,xxx to 78x,xxx
9401/0,94010 ~ 84x,xxx to 1xx,xxx
9411/0, 94110 ~ 79x,xxx to 96x,xxx (Possible as late as 1x,xxx)
76100 ~ 70,xxx to 22x,xxx
7x090 ~ 30x,xxx to B67x,xxx
7x190 ~ B 67x,xxx to H 14x,xxx

Certainly adds to the lollipop/mercedes mystery the 76100 has.

Congrats Oscar - another beauty. As for dates and such, my serial is B430XXX dating it to 1992 but the papers are stamped 1994 from Little Switzerland in St. Thomas/St Croix which is still an AD. Obviously no waiting lists back them.

Here are the pics from my watchmaker's R20.

75090 came with sapphire, while 79090 is plastic crystal.
