Lucky or unlucky as this is just about the only watch you haven't been selling for the last 6 months. Also the insert's font looks very thin, maybe the lighting.

It's a one time use retaining ring? Really? Now I'm no watchmaker but could have told you that before you decided to cost yourself a $500 repair bill at the RSC. I am not even sure independent watchmakers have access to the bezel press tool and new retaining rings. Last I heard the watch has to go to RSC.

Ouch! That might be a bit of a spendy venture into curiosity. This is me trying to fix a car, it usually costs me more than the original trip to the tech would have. :)

Less than $500 (depending on labour costs) but still not 'cheap'.

I wouldn’t have tried it on my Pepsi Mk1. Maybe if mine was a Mk2. I seriously doubt you’d be able to get the nice purple insert anymore. But, it’s done, no going back.

I know it's not rocket science, and I've changed the oil in countless cheap cars myself, but on a Ferrari (or in this case, a Rolex) just why? Send it back to the professionals.

Sorry to hear OP. These are actually much less expensive than expected. Considering the cost of the watch ~$500 for something that in theory maybe needs replacing once it its lifetime if unlucky is not too bad at all.

Come on Rolex you can make more of these SS BLROs if that's all you want to replace the insert.

I wonder if they'll give any issue with the warranty as well. If they're sticklers they could say that watch was modded or tinkered with outside of their RSCs and say the whole warranty is void. I hope not though
