At least get a water resistance check done. This is my biggest dislike of when people talk about service lengths and “should I shouldn’t I” questions on a dive watch that’s assumed water resistant.

Nice watch.

Congratualtions, such a beautiful watch.
Love the case proportions of the 5 series, and with the maxi dial it is very special.
I remember seeing them for half the current going price a few short years ago, and imagine they will be double current prices soon..... Bother!

You did not pick up a Rollie you bought a Rolex 16610LV.

Personally I would get it checked and serviced for piece of mind..to make sure it's as it should be..especially having spent so much..
As there are a few that are not 100%

And if you are lucky may come back with a flat 4

Hmm, I just looked up on Chron24 what an "F" series is worth. Wowzers. I guess I got a good deal.

Do you guys add your Rolex's to your home insurance policies? Technically, I'd have to add this one and the President. I am sure it's not going to be cheap. :(

My entire near 20 year watch collecting experience suggests that you're totally wrong. Servicing a modern-ish Rolex every 3 years is a total waste of money.

5-7 is much more reasonable, but even 7-10 is probably OK.

Chrono24 is mostly BS prices, being asked by people hoping to snag someone willing to overpay - that is if they actually even have the watch that's listed.

Didn't buy it to flip. I've been looking at this watch for years. It, to me, is just classic and timeless.

I do with Rolex would sue Invicta and the other watch companies for copying the Submariner design. Some of them look awfully close to the Rolex's.

Definitely don’t need to be serviced unless there is a problem. I have a 1966 airking which was serviced once in it’s lifetime, and there wasn’t even anything wrong with it, but the crystal was scratch and needed replacing, so I decided to do an overall. I also own a 1973 explorer which was only serviced twice in its lifetime. The whole “ it should be serviced every 5 years” is completely unnecessary UNLESS YOU ARE A DIVER, IF YOU DIVE A LOT, SEALS NEED TO BE CHANGED EVERY 3 to 5 years. And if you are a pro or technical diver, every year or two.

Ver nice. I wouldn’t service until it loses time or stops.

I have no idea why you're responding to my comment with these words, but... OK. I like my LV a lot too. I should wear it more.

Also, FYI - most modern divers watches don't look like a Rolex Sub. The Rolex Sub looks like the first dive watch: The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

The second part just popped into my head as I was watching a Youtube video comparing Invicta and Rolex. I probably should had left that part out.
