What I believe he meant was that if Rolex was intending to reintroduce the blue Pepsi with the 3285 movement, they wouldn't have discontinued it in the first place. They would have continued production and supply into this year, and then maybe we would have heard rumblings of a disco in the last few weeks, and only because they were replacing it with the new model. Instead, this thing was gone just a few months after they introduced it. That doesn't follow the pattern of a transition replacement; that's an out-and-out discontinuation.

I'm not bullish on a WG Coke, either, but it makes more sense than a third-generation WG Pepsi that will compete alongside the SS. I think the WG Pepsi is gone.

Thanks Jackson! That is exactly what I was trying to say and you said it better than I

I get what both you guys are saying. I still expect 3285 in there, I’m less sure if it’s coke or pep. The entire rollout was whacked. My AD never got one as it was immediately on backorder.

I searched long and hard last month to track down a '18 blue dial WG BLRO. There was absolutely no availability with the exception of a couple 50k examples on the secondary market. I have no idea who would pay 50k but wasn't going to be me. An excellent condition, black dial with plenty of warranty can be had for 26-28k.

I’m going to speak to a different AD from now on.
It’s now clear that they were simply letting existing inventory with the outgoing movement get sold (while stoking future demand from those who believed they missed out)
Its funny how things turn out. 24 hours ago I was looking wistfully at gray dealers (and the lucky few in here) at the relative rarity (and the premium) of the WG BLRO. Now there’s some relief that I will be able to acquire one. That will be my grail watch one day

So it’s not discontinued but why “New 2019 Model” when it was released last year?
