If you do not rank the TT Black in the bottom two spots I think you are kidding yourself. But no one knowss
No one knows but Rolex aint stupid - they would have weighed up the sales figures and thought this would sell and make money. Hence why its now available. Way way way too much emphasis on tool watch references on TRF. Rolex dont give a damn about the heritage, they care about $$$$$$$$

Nah, I'm good.

Curious exactly who they're targeting with this model. I don't see many ss owners flipping or even adding, (as we can see on this thread), so that kind of leaves the population of those who are interested in the sub. Which, even in steel, it seems the majority are going to go with the sub. And, at 16k, the tt is priced a little, well, prohibitively.

So, all that to say, not sure what they're thinking...

Very well said

I suppose if it’s fits with the “bigger sub” thinking, than it may have some appeal to those folks.

I can’t imagine what a full gold or god forbid, platinum would weigh

Not flipping my SD43 nor adding this TT. Not saying it's ugly but it's not for me. I'm thinking a bluesy SD might have been a better idea.

I would imagine it will appeal to those who fancy the YMII.

As for weight of a full PM...

If Rolex stamped 1200 Meters on the dial then YES IT CAN! It would be thoroughly tested.

I doubt many buyers would care though. No human has ever gone anywhere near that depth. What is the deepest dive record? 350 meters or something. It's fun that they can go that deep but I don't think it is the deciding factor on most Sea-Dweller purchases. Customer sees watch, likes watch, buys watch.

Am not knocking the TT in any way, but moving to it from SS is highly unlikely. Largely academic since they will probably be a rarity as ever!

Now, actually, I find the TT SD43 more attractive than the TT Sub LN. The slimmer logs and shape of the case on SD43 (more 5 digit Sub like) look better than the maxi case on the Sub, and the graduated, gold colored minute markers on the bezel give it a more balanced look.

In all seriousness, is anybody thinking about adding it so you have a steel and TT version?
The SD43 is one of the few watches I would pay cash for, If I'm fortunate to get one it would be a keeper.

I really love my SD43 and for me (big guy with wrists to match) this is pretty close to perfect for me. When I saw the RPR post yesterday I did not jump out of my skin but I didn't hate it. Now that it is real, I thought about it and came to the conclusion that if I wanted a TT, I would probably go for a Sky Dweller instead of this guy.

I agree with the folks that claim the SD43 is just an overgrown Sub Date. I think most mean it as a negative but for me it is perfect and exactly what I wanted.

An SD43 Hulk....Holy cow would that be awesome!

This should have been done in rose gold
A TTRG would have been a hit, given the reception CHNR got

Maybe they’re adding for the people that can’t get the SS, a bit like the SkyD. The TT SkyD appears to be more available. People have the option to go wait for SS or pick up TT now.

I am pissed when saw this as rumor from RPR and now it comes true!

But TBH, it is quite a good looking watch when see it in real photo (I guess because of awesome SD43 design)
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ro...26603-hands-on

Too bad that Rolex decided to do this to SD43 given that they are one of their best "tool" watches

I can somewhat understand the appeal of the Sub in TT but the Sea Dweller looks and feels god awful in that design. I know Rolex are predominately jewelry at this stage but doing that to the Sea Dweller completely goes against it's more extreme tool watch heritage. I know that bridge was crossed when the did it to the sub, but this just feels a little much.

Tt sd43 at 16k or skydweller. Easy decision for all.

I'm never going to sell my Red SD43, it's my grail, but unlike my colleagues on the forum I think the TT SD43 is beautiful, and one more option in the catalog.
