Congrats to you and your son! I'm sure he'll still appreciate the watch and you're very kind for getting it for him, but if he has no interest in watches, why not get him something else for graduation that he is interested in? Give him something that'll make him feel the way you do when you get a watch, even if it's a trip, or cash, or something completely different from a watch! :)

Our son was THRILLED with his watch. I never thought he would make the association between Seamaster = Aqua Terra = Roll Tide as he graduated Summa Cum Laude in three years from U. of Alabama on a full scholarship!

He's wearing it MUCH more than I expected, taking a summer off before a full ride to THE Ohio State University for Masters.

He absolutely loved the Omega and Rolex AD stories, it's now a special watch to him. Here's hoping he gets the bug.

I had vowed to keep the DateJust in the box until the big client placed their order.

Well... it's been 17 months. So I sized it and wore it today. Let's hope that jars the big client off the fence!!!

love it! also, I do the same exact thing at customs, and actually have had them call ahead too as on one trip I bought an unpolished rail dial 1665 sea dweller AND a new full RG gmt as I got lucky in a shop in Berlin...they charged me 1k duty for everything and let me on my way. I think I could have had to pay something like 3k-4k depending on how they wanted to tally it but they tend to be super kind to people WHEN YOU LET THEM KNOW you're not hiding big purchases lol.
