I hate sharing this type of experiences because I'm a huge Rolex fan. This is actually the 2nd time first was a milgauss gv, I sent it in for a service and when I picked up the watch the crystal was chipped and was extremely noticeable along with the bezel. In a nut shell they replaced the crystal and the bezel labor free and I had to pay for the parts. I should of learn my lesson then. Like I said Im a big fan and just thought it was a isolated incident.

Repairmen can do more damage than good, I am going to wear mine until it stops running before a RSC service. Going for 15 to 20 years.

Stories like this make me sick.
RSC Dallas scratched case back of my brand new Tudor GMT that was sent there by my AD because of the date issue. They end up ordering a brand new case back. Seems like RSC Dallas is catching up to reputation of RSC NYC rather quick. |

This is why I would avoid sending my watch to RSC for little thing since good chance it coming back with with damages, seriously these are the signs of unskilled watchmakers

Had a similar issue with Dallas RSC several years ago. Sent my 8 month old Sub Date in to fix the crown. It came back with the bracelet scratched and the lugs dinged. The kicker? It was absolutely flithy! Oh and they managed to jam the glidelock up good and proper to boot. I wouldn't send my worst enemy's cat there for a service.

It's a shame they aren't more careful when people that obviously take very good care of their watches drop them in for maintenance.
My ADs service center created a impressive amount of scratches on one of my APs I had in for water resistance service a few years back. So I know how it feels... I would recommend to forget and just move on, god knows what they could do If you go back and trying having it rectified... Scratches will occur and in a few years those marks will just be a few of many.

It can happen easily when you are installing/removing the bracelet. When you squeeze the spring bar and push the endlink down (watch is crystal down) then spring bar will jump on the top side of the lugs and leave the marks on both edges exactly like on your photos. It happened to me when I changed the bracelet myself in my old Explorer II. But I've done it first time and didn't have a spring bar tweezers just simple spring bar tool. I can't imagine how someone doing this professionally having all proper tools can butcher it that much ...

Not OK. Dallas is usually very good.
Surprised they would approach the bracelet from the top. |

The email address for Dallas RSC would be the same one they used to send you their work estimates for your watches earlier. If you mean Rolex USA HQ, they also use FAX and I pasted it below (did not type it out to avoid number harvesters) Of course you can also just snail mail them at 665 5th Avenue New York NY 10022 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Considering all the recommendations for RSC Dallas, I’m very surprised to learn not one - but a few members had a poor experience.
My only experience is with RSC NY - so far, so good. Granted, I do clarify “DO NOT POLISH” on my work orders; however, the watch is not returned with any new scratches either. |

Update on the watch, I sent a letter to RSC Dallas informing them of what had happend and I'm sending my watch in to Mike at Rolliworks for laser welding. Once the watch is repaired I will attach before and after pics.

That is a amateur mistake. The reason this can happen at a RSC is there is no accountability in who made such a mistake. They don’t know you and you don’t know them.
This is one of the reasons we preach about using a respected expert like Rikki. Only one set of hands touch the watch. There is never a accountability question on who is in contact with my watch. You are essentially playing Russian roulette every time you send a watch to RSC. http://www.timecareinc.com/ |

Probably not, they will just hide behind one or another policy ... Looking forward to see the pics from the repair by them. Rolex themselves would just have grinded it down, making it even worse. Hope that you get it back soon and can enjoy it again

I'm glad you did. I've been seeing more of these kinds of reports lately, and this thread has solidified my decision to seriously consider Rolliworks when it's service time. I take it they are as well regarded for their movement work as they are for their case work, yes?

Aside, did you send the watch for 'cleaning' at Rolex, Chennai - India? https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=669365 |

Mistakes happen - send it back to RSC and have them laser weld the case. Job done.

I've mentioned this before, but my former watchmaker (now retired) was a trainer at the PA school who frequently flew to Dallas RSC to train up some of the people. His description of their operations, at that time, was that essentially a secretary (e.g., office person who wasn't trained in watchmaking) is the first step in any service. That person is responsible for... separating the bracelet from the head. He trained those people among others. Then the head goes on to get opened up by a watchmaker who does whatever. At some point polishing happens, the internals are fitted, and then the bracelet goes back on. Each of those jobs being done by someone else. I took his description with a grain of salt, but if a basically unskilled person is removing bracelets it would 100% explain what's going on. |

That’s a shame, and I hope you get it sorted.
Luckily I’ve had nothing but stellar results with RSC Toronto (knock on wood) |

I read recently that RSC Dallas had expanded both the
physical floor space and hired more service technicians. So they are training, and I’m guessing that any new hires are getting the simpler repairs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

I posted this in a similar thread.
I sent my 114060 to RSC NYC and it came back with the sides of the clasp scratched up. It literally looked like someone wore the watch when I got it back, and I really think someone did. NEVER again will I use an RSC!

Looks like they used a hammer and chisel to fit the bracelet
