Great watch if you like the proportions of it; I prefer the dimmensions of the older 14270 / 114270 36 mm models

It's an excellent choice. It has so many qualities that really does make it's claim for a one and only watch title very valid.

Arguably to that point, you'll only really appreciate it once you've tried other watches!

It's definitely caused me to take stock of what I have, what I want possibly going forward, and has become my daily.

The 214270 is a classic. Can’t go wrong getting one. I’m leaning towards the 214270 mk1 as despite my ocd I’m drawn to the ‘shorter’ minute hand, as well as the non lumed 3,6,9

No bezel I'll never use, no PCLs to drive me nuts, no date to distract from its design and no overhype price premium, easily my favorite and most worn.

The Explorer is a great choice for a first Rolex. You may find you don't need another one.

It’s the favorite in my 3 watch rotation, & I haven’t seen many threads in the forum where someone regretted getting it.

♛- Yet to be determined, but a white 16520 is on the short list. (I believe that I'll be able to read it better than my old 116520)

Its a very nice watch. No disappointments if you buy it. That said, consider the new Air-King also. Now THAT is a nice watch, and very unique too.
