I’m a 6 digit guy. Prefer the bracelet, clasp, larger maxi dial, and yes even the supercase

Go for the 6 digits sub. 5 digits is a tool watch and 6 digits is a dress watch.

Interesting how different these watches are. I'm on the hunt for a 14060m, but my ideal watch would be a hybrid combination of the 2:

14060:
- slim case
- 2 lines of text on the dial
- aluminum bezel insert

114060:
- SEL solid end links
- glidelock clasp
- maxi hands and dial plots

There is no wrong choice here. The bracelet and clasp quality are night and day. The ceramic bezel is shinier and make for a more fancy looking watch (either a pro or a con depending on your taste). However, I prefer the dimensions of the 5 digit models over the maxi case. Both are incredible, and it’s a tough choice.

I was in a similar situation with similar wrist size, and passed on the 14060m, and eventually picked up a new 114060. I was worried about the maxi case, but really appreciate it — the maxi lume plots are more in keeping with the 5513 era lume plots. As others have side, the bracelet is so much nicer than anything else.

I also have a 16710 and a 16570, so do appreciate the fit of the old 5-digit case.

I’ve had 5 and 6 digits, new and used, and a new 114060 would be my recommendation

IMO, go for the 14060, mainly because of the aesthetics. Cannot stand the fat lugs of the 114060.

Seems like it’s pretty close to a 50/50 split between the two, but definitely 100% preference. I admire the lustrousness and robustness of the 114060, but the 14060 just feels right at home on my wrist. And that’s what matters most, right? The way it makes you feel? Right? Lol. Thank you all for your honest input. It definitely helped me realize there is no wrong choice here.

The 5 digit used to be a £1000 watch 15yrs ago and it felt it was worth it then. The 6 digit has always been a £5000+ watch and it looks and feels it.
Personally, I’d be having the newer watch, I don’t want to spend the same on a 15yr old watch that someone has had the best out of it before me.

If you already found a clean 14060 go for it, they are become less and less... 114060 would be easy to get at anytime you want.

I have both and there is no bad decision between these two.

The bracelet on the ceramic model is a 10/10 but the old model is very easy to wear.

Your call.

The five digit has a certain charm but I agree with the above comment. If I could afford it, I'd just get both for the hell of it.
Honestly the biggest deciding factor is the dial and hands. The five digit looks dainty, the 16610 LV with a black bezel is great compromise but speculators have priced those into space. But who knows, seems as I get older I become more nostalgic and prefer older more traditional things.
For now though I'm planning an 114060 purchase next year to hold me over while my name creeps up the BLRO list.

As a disclaimer I'm partial to the 5 digits but seeing the photos the 14060 looks much better proportioned on your wrist.

Update: I’m keeping the 114060. Honestly it was only the fit, but that is motivation for me to bulk up in the gym ;p

I'm happy with both but the glidelock clasp is perfection for me.

I had the older model and then got the ceramic when it came out and didn’t like it. I sold it but later bought another! From disliking the maxi case initially I really like it now but that is just subjective. However the build quality is streets ahead on the new model. Also bear in mind the maxi case does not seem to be going anywhere soon as evidenced by the new GMT II

Soon you'll need wrist implants just to wear a modern Rolex.

Congratulations.
Did you actually purchase the Sub C 114060?
I am bit confused as in your other post earlier today, about how many links come with a 14060, ie 5 digit, you said an AD sold you a preowned 14060.

I went 14060 for the tritium / future patina factor. It definitely wears smaller and is more classic but the 6 digit subs are nice too. Can't go wrong with either

I like the 114060 because i have a bigger sized wrist and forearms so it just looks better on me. I find being able to adjust the bracelet makes it a lot easier for after the gym or when the heat causes my wrists to swell up a little more.

Both great watches. Have to side with 14060 due to versatility of case design. Great on bracelet and straps.

I've had both
Twice

I'm 100% convinced I'm indifferent

But I'm getting the 114060 next

5 years warranty
5513 nod to plots
Glide lock

And, yeah... The modern 5000£ watch that's always been 5000£. Material, technology, warranty, 2sec accuracy, SEL , bracelet, lume

Not the £1000 watch that's been lifted by the tide.(that admittedly has a lot of nostalgia and respect none the less) - how I love it tho!!!!

Will the 114060 have your name on its papers? If you are buying it new, you may have a "better" connection to the watch as you are the first and only owner of the watch. Just my 2 cents.... Both watches are great and really cant do wrong with either.
