Wow, may as well have tumbleweeds!
FYI: Was at Mayors at Tampa International Mall a few days back and they had a pretty darn good selection.

The good stuff goes out the backdoor mostly to grey dealers and the occasional VIPs.

no supply issues, fake news that ADs are limited in supply. They are selling to VIPs and grey market for sure.

Have you seen Archie Luxury's latest video on SS Rolex? The guy actually made an informative video about an experience of him where - when at an AD - a known grey dealer come in with "bricks" of money for the AD. The AD's true VIP clients are the greys, and if you think there is a supply shortage then this is the reason why. The AD's are controlling the supply. NOT Rolex. |

I was in seattle downtown this weekend. BB had 3 DJ 41 and a DJ II sitting there all weekend. And an Air King and Yachtmaster II of course!

I’m not sure this is happening, certainly not at ADs that are part of a chain surely?! In the UK supply is controlled to them by head office, or is that BS also?! I’m confused Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm not naive. I accept that the grey selling is happening at some ADs. Too much evidence to suggest otherwise. I just want to believe it's a few wayward dealer trying to make a quick buck, at the risk of losing everything. But the consistent stories about different AD tactics and empty display cases are making me wonder if this is much more widespread than I want to believe.

That's exactly my thought. A lot of ADs are selling the hot pieces to grey. I'm sure they they are getting creative on how not to get caught.

I forgot to add that during my conversation there was comments indicating how much money the flippers and greys are making on top of MSRP and that rules from management are changing almost weekly to deal with it. Makes me wonder.

Sad picture - However ADs must have the time of their life, since they can offload stock before it even hits the case. Dont believe that any AD miss the "old" days.

I don't blame the flippers one bit. When you can make 5-10k or more with very little work why not.
No one really cares this is happening besides watch enthusiasts. Most people could care less about a Rolex shortage... |

Agreed. I went to the Rolex Wempe boutique in midtown this past weekend and one of the individuals working there explicitly stated SS pieces are reserved for special clients. They either have them in the back and only bring them out if you are looking to spend to a certain threshold or they are already sold. It’s not limited to Rolex. Went to Panerai and told them I would buy the 590 with the 968 and they wouldn’t do it unless I bought something other than a base model to bundle with the bronzo. They know what these pieces get on the secondary market so a piece selling at 2x retail is going to require you to at least spend that amount to get a look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

FYI in Munich two of my dealer friends... one had some inventory but not much, the other had empty wall cases and nearly nothing in stock. The airport friend had some decent inventory, but leaning towards the higher PM pieces (they had a rainbow a while back he showed / offered me, i passed on it).
Was at my AD Mayors in FL a few days ago picking up the chnr. He also had a white polar that he offered me and passed. Might pick one up at some point, though just bought two Ltd Ed Sonor DCP bronze snare drums so that kind of ate in the my fun funds. AD said just as he's starting to put polar into the case someone asked if it is Rolex stainless steel sports model. The answer was yes and the guy bought it. Demand is insane and watches don't even make it **into** the case because they're asked for before AD even has a chance to place it into the display holder(!).
